Yale graduate and professional school students have voted to form a labor union, President Peter Salovey said Monday after an official count by the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). “With today’s result, the university will now turn to bargaining in good faith with Local 33 to reach a contract,” he said in a message to the campus community. In October, the labor union UNITE HERE Local 33 petitioned the NLRB for an election, seeking to represent graduate and professional school students at Yale. The university honored the request and worked with Local 33 representatives on the terms of the election, which was held on campus Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 and included an option for mail-in ballots for eligible voters unable to participate in person. The NLRB counted the votes today and certified the results. Tishman Speyer executive Ana Walshe was last seen on Jan. 1. A Tishman Speyer executive has been missing for a week, and after multiple days of police searches, her husband was arrested Sunday for allegedly misleading investigators.  Tishman Speyer Regional General Manager Ana Walshe, 39, left her home in Cohasset, Massachusetts, early on Jan. 1 to catch a flight to Washington, D.C., where she was on her way to handle an emergency at one of the properties the firm manages, WCVB reported.  The Cohasset Police Department said she never got on the plane. Her husband and Tishman Speyer reported her missing Jan. 4.  “We are actively assisting the local authorities in their ongoing search for our beloved colleague, Ana, and are praying for her safe return,” a Tishman Speyer spokesperson wrote in a statement to Bisnow Sunday evening. Police arrested Walshe's husband, Brian Walshe, on Sunday, and the Norfolk County District Attorney's Office charged him with misleading police in the investigation. He is expected to be arraigned Monday morning in the Quincy District Court.  As part of her role, Walshe commutes to D.C. during the week to work at Tishman. Filippo Bernardini, an Italian citizen who had been working in publishing in London, pleaded guilty to a single count of wire fraud in connection with a phishing scheme that baffled the book world for years. The announcement was made by the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, Damian Williams, who said Bernardini is set to be sentenced April 5 before before U.S. District Judge Colleen McMahon. “Filippo Bernardini used his insider knowledge of the publishing industry to create a scheme that stole precious works from authors and menaced the publishing industry,” Williams said in a statement. Authorities say Bernardini, 30, used email accounts to impersonate literary agents and editors to con authors out of their manuscripts. “Through impersonation and phishing schemes, Bernardini was able to obtain more than a thousand manuscripts fraudulently,” Williams said.
