Tracking Proclaimed Offenders: 'Obtain Social Media Details While Arresting, Keep A Vigil On The …

In a recent ruling of Delhi High Court, laying down detailed guidelines to be followed while declaring a person as a Proclaimed Offender, the Delhi Police & CBI have also been directed to obtain the social media details of such people (Proclaimed Offenders) at the time of their arrest or soon thereafter. Noting that there are impediments in early tracing and detection of proclaimed offenders and taking legal action, the Court said that tracing of proclaimed offenders would require, inter alia, accurate personal identification details like e-mail ID, mobile number, landline number etc., and Social Media accounts if any, like Facebook, WhatsApp etc."These days social media tools can be used for tracking and tracing an accused in case of any exigency akin to abscondance," stated the order. LinkedIn hack 700 million users exposed – how to find if you are one!

The 22 June LinkedIn hack exposed 700 of its 756 million users – 92%. The Dark Web database is current and available for sale. LinkedIn confirms the breach, but there is more than a bit of confusion over the cause. A sample of one million records for sale shows it contains: Email AddressFull namePhone numberPhysical addressGeolocation recordLinkedIn username and profile URLPersonal and professional experience/backgroundGenderOther social media accounts and usernames It does not appear to have passwords, date-of-birth or financial data. Cybersecurity experts say that it is the perfect base for Identity Theft and highly targeted phishing attacks. This follows the exposure of 500 million of its user’s data in April 2021. A LinkedIn post states, “This is not a data breach, and no private member data was exposed. Our initial investigation has found that this data was scraped from LinkedIn and other various websites and includes the same data reported earlier this year in our April 2021 scraping update.” In a further update, LinkedIn says the data is authentic. It claims that some came from its servers and combined with other scraped data to complete the data package offered. LinkedIn hack or data scraping – the result is the same Oded…

LinkedIn censors MRAK story about Hope Center's lawsuit against Anchorage

The social media platform LinkedIn has censored a Must Read Alaska story about the Downtown Hope Center’s lawsuit against the Municipality of Anchorage. The lawsuit, filed Wednesday, seeks to protect abused women in the shelter from having to sleep on the floor alongside biological males, and the report about the lawsuit was a factual telling of the situation. Read: Hope Center sues again to keep transgendered men out of sleeping area The pattern of Big Tech deleting stories that its censors is occurring across many of the now-traditional platforms — LinkedIn, Facebook, and even Twitter. Earlier this year, YouTube took down content from the Must Read Alaska page on that site. The removed content was footage of public testimony at the Anchorage Assembly meeting when people testified on the record in the Assembly Chambers about the unwelcome Covid-19 policies’ effects on their lives. News sites such as Must Read Alaska have branched out; our stories also are posted on MeWe.com and other sites that value free speech. LinkedIn said the story about the lawsuit goes against its community standards, which include: Be Safe, Be Trustworthy, Be Professional. This is the first known case of MRAK content being actually censored. Earlier…

LinkedIn data breach: Data of 700 million users put for online sale

Details of 700 million LinkedIn Users were hacked and put for online sale. Two months before, LinkedIn suffered a government inquiry after the data of 500 million users were sourced and posted online. Now it’s occurred again. This time as large as 700 million users were affected. RaidForums users have put the data of 700 million people for sale late last week. It was found by the news site PrivacySharks, which communicated LinkedIn after examining a million record examples offered by the seller. So where did this entire data come from? Was it collected during the violation? Did someone find a misconfigured database and retain all 700 million records public for someone who unexpectedly discovered and downloaded the database? LinkedIn circulated an official statement in which it was reported that this data breach is not the corporation’s offense, and an internal study denoted that no private LinkedIn user data was hacked or shared. Data from approximately 500 million LinkedIn users was shared in a similar way in April. LinkedIn claimed that all the data was public and possibly the effect of scouring the data and editing the information from different websites. Regardless of how the data was transferred to the…
