‘He’s a very special player’ – Jeremie Frimpong excited by Florian Wirtz reunion at Liverpool

Published 2 hours ago By Sam Williams Jeremie Frimpong knows Florian Wirtz better than most and believes his fellow new signing at Liverpool will take the Premier League by storm. Wirtz has followed in Frimpong’s footsteps by joining the Reds from Bayer Leverkusen this summer, meaning the close friends will continue to be teammates. The duo shared four-and-a-half successful seasons at the Bundesliga club and Frimpong is excited by the prospect of linking back up with Wirtz as fresh additions to the Premier League champions’ squad. When asked what Liverpool supporters can expect from the Germany playmaker, Frimpong told Sky Sports: “Just expect a winner. He’s a very, very, very special player and for me, he’s a very hard-working guy. The league will love him – I haven’t got to talk too much, just watch him! “Flo, he doesn’t crumble under pressure – he likes pressure. He’s a guy that likes pressure. I feel like when you’re on the pitch you forget about everything, you just enjoy football, you just play and Flo is one of the guys who makes you enjoy football, just seeing how he plays. “He’s going to be perfect and he’s playing with Liverpool players

LinkedIn CEO says AI writing is not as popular as he expected it to be

Artificial intelligence tools have been, for the last two years, trying to suggest better ways to write an email, document or even resumes but LinkedIn CEO, Ryan Roslansky, has said in an interview that “it’s not as popular as I thought it would be”. In the Bloomberg interview, he was referring to the LinkedIn tool where AI can be asked to write a post from scratch. “The barrier is higher,” he said posting about posting on LinkedIn and “getting called out” on the platform “impacts your ability to create economic opportunity for yourself”. From LinkedIn to Gemini to Apple Intelligence, all the AI offerings have tools to improve writing. Most of the time, the text output is free of blemishes and has a feel of AI. Educators and even companies are constantly looking for tools to spot text that has been generated by AI. Further, AI models, like ChatGPT and Gemini, have the tendency to hallucinate, making the output unreliable. The editor of the Italian newspaper Il Foglio said in March that it had used AI to produce an edition as part of an experiment. The tool that was used is called Foglio AI, the brainchild of Claudio Cerasa, the

4 More States Caught Sharing Personal Health Data With Big Tech | KQED

Colin Lecher and Tomas Apodaca, CalMatters Jun 21 Failed to save article Please try again  (Illustration by Gabriel Hongsdusit/CalMatters) Massachusetts Health Connector, another exchange, told LinkedIn whether visitors said they were pregnant, blind, or disabled. After being contacted by The Markup and CalMatters, Nevada’s health exchange stopped sending visitors’ data to Snapchat and Massachusetts stopped sending data to LinkedIn. Additionally, The Markup and CalMatters found that Nevada stopped sending data to LinkedIn in early May, as we were testing. The Markup and CalMatters discovered the sharing after finding that California’s exchange, Covered California, told LinkedIn when a visitor indicated they were blind, pregnant, or a victim of domestic violence. Experts said state health exchanges’ use of advertising trackers was troubling if not entirely surprising. Such tools can help organizations to reach visitors and tailor ads for them. Google Analytics allows website operators to better understand who is coming to their site and to optimize ad campaigns. The LinkedIn and Snap trackers, like a similar offering from Meta, help companies target their social media ads. Nevada uses the trackers to help target marketing at uninsured residents, according to Russell Cook, Executive Director of the state agency that operates Nevada’s exchange, Silver

New method to study catalysts could lead to better batteries – University of Rochester

A new algorithm opens the door for using artificial intelligence and machine learning to study the interactions that happen on the surface of materials. Scientists and engineers study the atomic interactions that happen on the surface of materials to develop more energy efficient batteries, capacitors, and other devices. But accurately simulating these fundamental interactions requires immense computing power to fully capture the geometrical and chemical intricacies involved, and current methods are just scratching the surface. “Currently it’s prohibitive and there’s no supercomputer in the world that can do an analysis like that,” says Siddharth Deshpande, an assistant professor in the University of Rochester’s Department of Chemical Engineering. “We need clever ways to manage that large data set, use intuition to understand the most important interactions on the surface, and apply data-driven methods to reduce the sample space.” By assessing the structural similarity of different atomic structures, Deshpande and his students found that they could get an accurate picture of the chemical processes involved and draw the relevant conclusions by analyzing just two percent or fewer of the unique configurations of surface interactions. They developed an algorithm reflecting this insight, which they described in a study published in Chemical Science . In
