11 Emmy Nominations Couldn’t Save Nicolas Cage’s ‘Spider-Noir’ – HorrorFuel.com

Despite sweeping critical acclaim and earning more Emmy nominations than any other Prime Video series this year, “ Spider-Noir“ has been surprisingly axed after just a single season. The live-action Marvel adaptation debuted with a stellar 92% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes and a 90% audience approval rating. This prompted industry observers to infer that heavy production costs were the primary culprit behind the unexpected curtain call. A Hard-Boiled Take on a Marvel Favorite The series stars Nicolas Cage in his first leading television role. He plays Ben Reilly, a weary, down-on-his-luck private eye navigating 1930s New York City. However, he’s forced to confront his past life as the city’s sole superhero following a devastating personal tragedy. Cage delivered a hard-boiled performance backed by a heavy-hitting ensemble. The main cast included Brendan Gleeson, Lamorne Morris, Jack Huston, Li Jun Li, Karen Rodriguez, and Abraham Popoola. Guest appearances included Lukas Haas, Cameron Britton, Amanda Schull, and Amy Aquino. A Creative Powerhouse Backed by Technical Excellence From co-showrunners Oren Uziel (22 Jump Street) and Steve Lightfoot (The Punisher), the project brought together the Oscar-winning creative team behind Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. That includes Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Amy Pascal. Emmy winner Harry

The best Android app on my phone is one I haven’t opened in months

Published Sep 5, 2026, 6:00 PM EDT Jon Gilbert is a Features Writer for Android Police. I've covered Android since 2021, focusing on writing features and guides about Android apps and features that directly affect users. I've attended CES to uncover powerful hardware that isn't dominated by Google like the Mudita Kompakt. I trawl through Android news daily, hunting for stories that have real-world consequences. I hold a BA in History & Classics.  Last week I did something I rarely do. I sent an RCS text over Google Messages. I didn't do it because I use SMS; I did it because I live in Europe, where WhatsApp is the primary messaging app for most people. It makes sense; data plans are cheap, and using WhatsApp makes international travel a breeze. However, I resent Meta's monopoly over our messaging. Using WhatsApp instead of SMS or RCS is a matter of convenience. It's the easiest way to text anyone outside the US, and the experience is the same regardless of the device you use or where you're texting from. That's why it's used more than iMessage or FaceTime. WhatsApp is the most convenient way to text, but it's not the best. RCS should

Operation Bluebird loses bid to re-claim Twitter title – Mashable

What looked, on the surface, like a clear case of copyright infringement has taken a surprising turn in court, as a judge for the District Court of Delaware has ruled that, because X abandoned both the term "tweet" and the blue bird logo, both are now fair game. In deference to the judge's decision and to pre-empt any further potential legal action, Operation Bluebird has re-rebranded, transforming Twitter.now into Tweet.app , under the tagline "The square is back. And this time, it's yours." Back in 2023, Elon Musk rebranded the platform entirely, nixing the Twitter name and iconic blue bird logo in favor of a simplified X. And now a brash startup, originally named Operation Bluebird, has attempted to swoop in and pick up the abandoned iconography , creating a social media platform called Twitter.now that recycles both the concept of a "tweet" and the blue bird logo of the OG Twitter.  Mashable Light Speed What looked, on the surface, like a clear case of copyright infringement has taken a surprising turn in court, as a judge for the District Court of Delaware has ruled that, because X abandoned both the term "tweet" and the blue bird logo, both are

‘The Liberation’ Review: Carrie Coon, Lily James in Cult Drama – The Hollywood Reporter

As Rita Cooper (Carrie Coon) shivers outside in the cold, waiting to get picked up from a sleepover gone awry with a not-yet-cult, its leader, Ricki (Lily James), follows her out with a mug of tea. “I recognize your pain. I see what’s underneath it,” she tells her. “It’s my gift, seeing people for who they really are.” It’s Ricki alone, Ricki suggests, who grasps exactly how alienated Rita has become from her own seemingly stable life. It’s Ricki who thinks to ask questions about how unseen she feels, Ricki who gets what Rita is running from, Ricki who sees what she’s running toward. By the time Rita’s ride arrives, she’s decided to stay. There’s nowhere better for her to go, no one else who understands or even could. Highlights, MVP, and Twitter reactions to Will Stein’s first win with Kentucky Wildcats

The Will Stein era is officially underway for Kentucky Football! The Wildcats opened up the Stein era with a 45-13 victory over Youngstown State in front of a big crowd at Kroger Field that braved the heat. The offense was humming early, opening the game with a 7-play, 75-yard drive culminating in a 15-yard touchdown run by CJ Baxter. The Cats scored touchdowns on their next two offensive possessions as well, opening up a 21-0 lead over Youngstown, as Baxter found the end zone again on the ground and Kenny Minchey picked up his first passing touchdown by hitting Mikkel Skinner on a short touchdown pass. The Cats scored again after a muffed punt gave Kentucky a short field, and Minchey was able to find Willie Rodriguez for a touchdown on 4th-and-goal. The Penguins were able to get into the end zone with just 20 seconds left in the half, as Kentucky took a 28-7 lead into halftime. The Youngstown offense was able to find some success in the second half with another long drive that resulted in a 9-yard touchdown run, but Minchey tossed two more touchdown passes in the second half, including a beautiful throw to freshman Kenny

Euronews Albania’s Instagram Account Shut Down: What Is Happening on Social Media in Albania?

Euronews Albania’s Instagram page is no longer accessible, raising further alarm over what has been happening to Albanian accounts on social media in recent days. Without any prior notice or warning, Euronews Albania woke up today to find its Instagram page displaying the message: “User not found.” Just last night, Euronews Albania hosted MEP Sandro Gozi on its “Review” program, where he spoke specifically about the shutdown of Albanian Instagram accounts and called for transparency from Meta. Gozi raised a straightforward question: What is happening, and why are these accounts being shut down? The MEP called on Meta to provide a clear explanation as to whether these cases are the result of technical problems, violations of the platform’s rules, or coordinated abuse of its reporting system. Less than 24 hours after that interview, Euronews Albania itself can no longer access its Instagram page. This does not prove any connection between the interview and the shutdown of the account, and without an explanation from Meta, any such conclusion would be speculation. However, the case makes the very question raised in the Euronews Albania studio just one night earlier even more relevant. In recent days, dozens of Albanian Instagram accounts have reportedly

All social media must restrict access to underage users, says Teo – Free Malaysia Today

Deputy communications minister Teo Nie Ching said the restrictions are to ensure that internet addiction can be properly addressed and that young people receive the protection they need. (Bernama pic) PETALING JAYA: Restrictions on social media use by teenagers should apply across all social media and not just Facebook and Instagram, deputy communications minister Teo Nie Ching said today. She said the government hoped that restrictions on Facebook and Instagram users under the age of 18, including a 2-hour limit on daily usage, and restricted access between midnight and 6am, will be extended across the world as soon as possible, Bernama reported. She said the safety features should not be limited to users in the US alone, as young people in other countries also face the risk of internet addiction. Following a US legal settlement, Facebook and Instagram will restrict access to young people under the age of 18 and discontinue features such as “infinite scroll” and “auto-feed”, while Meta has also pledged to hide the number of “likes” for underage users. Teo said measures to protect young people must be implemented comprehensively by all social media platforms. Restrictions on Facebook and Instagram alone would not be sufficient if other

Tens of Millions Kids Were Exploited Online in a Year. Here’s Why Parents Should Pay Attention

A teenager holds her smartphone displaying a logo "ban under 15" in Brussels on July 7, 2026. The European Commission estimated, on July 6, 2026, that the French bill banning social media access for children under 15 was not fully compatible with European Union law, while reaffirming its support for the initiative. Like France, Spain and Denmark are also working on the introduction of a digital age of majority to follow Australia's example, who became in December 2025 the first country to implement such a law. Photo by Nicolas TUCAT / AFP via Getty Images UNICEF estimates that 20 million children ages 12 to 17 were touched by some kind of tech-enabled sexual exploitation or abuse in a recent 12-month period, across 21 countries. Close to 60% of those cases trace back to five mainstream apps — WhatsApp, TikTok, Snapchat, Instagram and Facebook — while only 14% involved online games. Hispanic teens in the U.S. rank among the heaviest daily users of TikTok, the very kind of platform UNICEF's data flags most often, according to separate Pew Research Center surveys. A Global Number With a Familiar Shape UNICEF put a hard number on the problem on September 3: by its
