Eat This, Not That!Dr. Fauci Just Said Take This One Vaccine If You Can Get ItA few months ago there were no vaccines available to protect against COVID-19. Now, in less than three months, there are three currently being administered—Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson&Johnson. It isn’t surprising that many people are wondering which one of them is the best, and whether they should wait around for one if they are offered another. During Monday’s White House COVID-19 Response Team Briefing, Dr. Anthony Fauci, the chief medical advisor to the President and the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, was asked about which of the three is the best, and if people should wait to get a specific one of the three. Read on to find out his answer—and to ensure your health and the health of others, don't miss these Sure Signs You've Already Had Coronavirus. Dr. Fauci Says We Have “Three Highly Efficacious Safe Vaccines”When asked if people were more hesitant to receive the single dose of the Johnson&Johnson vaccine versus the double dose of the others, Dr. Fauci reminded that one is not better than the others. “Just to reiterate what we've said multiple times…

Furious debate rages over straight, cisgender allies using LGBTQIA+ Twitch streamer tag

An Apple iPhone 11 smartphone with the Twitch video streaming app logo on screen. (Phil Barker/Future Publishing via Getty) Imagine you’re searching through Twitch looking specifically for LGBT+ streamers. You click the LGBTQIA+ Twitch tag expecting to find those identities represented. Yet many of the resulting streamers are actually straight allies. This is, for the most part, well intentioned. Cis het streamers want to ensure their streams are a safe space for LGBT+ viewers. By using the tag, though, they are inadvertently erasing the voices of queer content creators. It’s a long-running issue that has once again surfaced online, with LGBT+ Twitch streamers asking allies not to use the tag in their streams. Do y'all realize how frustrating it is to go down the list of streamers streaming to the lgbtqia+ tag and having the first TWENTY be cishet?? — Dagonmar 🏳️‍🌈 (@dagonmartv) March 10, 2021 Who is the LGBTQIA+ Twitch tag for? Much of the confusion lies with Twitch itself. In their list of tag definitions, they note the tag is for “streams in which the streamer chooses to identify as a member or ally of the LGBTQIA+ community”. By definition, then, the tag includes allies. What’s more, some…

'Ex-gay' pastor can't sue Vimeo for removing church's account, appeals court rules

By Anugrah Kumar, Christian Post Contributor Follow | Monday, March 15, 2021 (Photo: Flickr Commons/Joe Gratz) A federal appellate court has ruled that an ex-gay Southern California pastor and his Christian ministry cannot take legal action against the online video hosting platform Vimeo after his account was removed for promoting “sexual orientation change efforts.”The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit ruled last week that Pastor James Domen and his Church United cannot sue Vimeo due to the company’s immunity under Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, which Big Tech companies often use to evade liability for content on their websites. The Second Circuit agreed with U.S. Magistrate Judge Stewart Aaron’s January 2020 decision that Vimeo deleted the church’s account because it violated the platform’s content policies barring the promotion of “SOCE,” which is often derisively called “conversion therapy.”“This policy, in turn, fell within the confines of the good-faith content policing immunity that the CDA provides to interactive computer services,” the Second Circuit opinion authored by U.S. Circuit Judge Rosemary S. Pooler states. Domen, who is now has a wife and kids, alleges he “was a homosexual” for three years. But “because of his desire to pursue his faith in…

Livestreaming market report: Women increase their presence on Twitch, and everyone's playing …

Most of the top women on Twitch are gaming-focused, but the list also includes a Canadian chess champion and an American wildlife rehabilitator. (StreamElements/Rainmaker report) Last year was transformative for the international livestreaming scene, with Mixer bowing out, Twitch’s meteoric rise, and the continued growth of Facebook Gaming. In 2021, the landscape continues to heat up, with women on Twitch finding new audiences and a sudden resurgence of interest in chess. That’s according to data from the monthly State of the Stream report for February 2021, produced by Israeli firm StreamElements, a provider of tools and services for VOD production, in conjunction with its analytics partner Rainmaker.gg. (StreamElements’ previous analytics partner, Arsenal.gg, merged with Rainmaker early last month.) One key takeaway from the report has to do with the increasing prominence of women in livestreamed broadcasting. Even though women make up 41% of U.S. video gamers, only two women were among the top 200 streamers on Twitch last year. That number has grown to nine so far in 2021, most of whom are gaming-focused streamers. This includes Imane “Pokimane” Anys, who was the most-watched woman on Twitch in February, and is currently the seventh most-followed streamer on the site. Her…

Kremlin critic Navalny's Instagram account confirms he is being held in a prison camp in Vladimir …

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny's Instagram account confirmed on Monday that the jailed opposition politician is being held in a prison camp in Russia's Vladimir region northeast of Moscow known for its strict regime. Navalny's precise location had been unknown after his legal team said last week that he had been moved from the nearby Kolchugino jail and that they had not been told where he was being taken. Navalny, 44, one of President Vladimir Putin's most prominent critics, was jailed earlier this year for parole violations in a decision that the West has condemned as politically motivated. His Instagram account said he was being held in a heightened security section of the prison camp. MyPillow CEO Says New App Will Be 'Safe Place' for Those Canceled by YouTube, Twitter

MyPillow founder and CEO Mike Lindell said that the social media platform he’s launching in the coming weeks will be a “safe place” for those who have been “canceled” by big tech platforms such as YouTube and Twitter. “You won’t have to walk on eggshells anymore,” said Lindell, whose personal and MyPillow accounts were suspended by Twitter last month, noting that the release of his platform, Vocal, is scheduled within the next fortnight. “It’s YouTube and Twitter kind of combined. There’s nothing like it out there…journalists can actually go out and invite guests on and speak the truth,” Lindell told NTD’s “Focus Talk” host Jenny Chang. “I’m really looking forward to it and it’s been four years in the making and it is absolutely amazing, there’s technology out there that nobody else has.” Lindell’s site would compete with the likes of Parler and Gab, which have attracted conservatives and supporters of former President Donald Trump. Trump and his advisers have said he’s considering starting his own social media company. Lindell and his MyPillow account were suspended by Twitter over his election claims. When Lindell released his video on YouTube, the Google-owned platform deleted it, citing its “presidential election integrity policy.”…
