One of the nice things about hosting an entirely virtual conference is that organizers have more flexibility when it comes to panels and keynotes. Some breaking news here or there, and NamesCon Organizers can quickly put together a discussion panel without much maneuvering of the agenda. This morning, Andrew Rosener reported that he acquired RL.org for $13,000 from Aishwin Vikhona. Ordinarily, this relatively small deal wouldn’t really register much on people’s radar (it doesn’t even rank in the top 30 .org sales in the last year, according to NameBio). The sale was notable because of the venue for the acquisition – Clubhouse: Just bought https://t.co/ACLD38UiKk on #Clubhouse @joinClubhouse for $13,000 in what I believe is likely the first and certainly the highest domain name transaction to happen on the platform to date! Congrats on a good deal @aishwin! #History #domainnames — Andrew Rosener (@andrewrosener) January 22, 2021 I am not very familiar with Clubhouse, only hearing about it in the context of a DNW article about .Club domain names getting registered because of the growing popularity of the Clubhouse app social media platform. I just received an email from NamesCon organizers who announced that there will be a NamesCon Online…

Fear not, Begonia fans. The Winnipeg singer-songwriter’s five sold-out shows in her hometown last February will soon be more than just great memories. Alexa Dirks, who performs as Begonia, is releasing a 16-track live record, Fear Tour Live Album, to streaming services on Jan. 29, along with a concert video that can be rented or purchased at vimeo.com/ondemand/begonia. Begonia took the stage at the West End Cultural Centre on Feb. 21, 22, 27, 28 and 29 to wind up her Fear Live Tour in support of her debut album, Fear, which came out in the fall of 2019. Tickets sold out within minutes of each successive show being announced. The album and video are culled from those shows. Fear earned Begonia many accolades in 2020, earning her BreakOut Artist of the Year honours at the Western Canadian Music Awards last October and a spot on the Polaris Music Prize long list. Begonia had planned on a second leg of the tour in 2020, but, like virtually all concerts and festivals last year, the shows were cancelled, in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. On Friday, Begonia also released Bus, a track recorded during the original Fear sessions that didn’t make…

Rodin Eckenroth/WireImage Published on: Jan 22, 2021, 8:45 AM Coi Leray was unfairly thrown into the middle of the ongoing beef between her father Benzino and Royce Da 5’9 earlier this month when the Detroit rapper advised his enemy to be a better dad to his daughter. Now, it seems Leray has some words for her father in regards to the whole situation. On Friday (January 22), the New Jersey native unleashed a new single titled “No More Parties” where the rapper-singer gets introspective and hopes to step away from the things in her life that aren’t benefitting her. Unfortunately for Benzino, it seems like he’s a part of that. “I’m too busy getting this money counting cheddar/My daddy let me down, but I promise you I won’t let up/I wanna say fuck that man, but that shit won’t make me better,” Leray says 29 seconds into the track. She continued her disdain on the hook singing, “Fuck everybody, I can’t trust nobody/I ain’t even really tryna party, don’t invite me to no party.” Leray’s lines come as a bit of a surprise since there hasn’t been any news of her being on bad terms with Benzino. For the most part,…
