MIDDLETOWN, Ohio (FOX19) - Hospital patients at Atrium Medical Center will get a chance to see their families during the holidays thanks to a big donation. Because of COVID-19 protocols, visitors have been kept out of the hospital, which can make the holiday season lonely for patients. Blue Star Families in southwest Ohio donated 44 Facebook Portals to Atrium Medical Center. This will make virtual visits with families much easier during the holidays. Stuck in the hospital, many COVID-19 patients already know they will not be able to see family for holiday celebrations, well at least not in-person. Dr. Geri Lynn Maples with Blue Star Families dropped off dozens of Facebook Portal devices so veteran patients and anyone else stuck in the hospital can at least do a virtual visit with their family. “We definitely wanted to help them know that their community understands their challenges,” Maples said. “COVID has played a large role in making those challenges more profound.” It seems like a simple gift, but Atrium Medical Center says this will do much more for their patients than you may think. Some of their patients have been isolated, anxious, and scared for their future. “I can’t say enough…

Sabrina Gabriell Esloon arrested for puppy scam on Facebook (Source: waff) FORT PAYNE, Ala. (WAFF) - The Rainsville Police Department arrested a woman they have been trying to locate for months for facilitating a puppy scam on Facebook. According to Dekalb County Sheriff’s office a Facebook account with the name Samantha Allen was allegedly running the page. A complaint was made earlier this month that someone was advertising puppies for sale that would require a $250 deposit. The woman would allegedly set up a meeting place to get the $250 deposit and promised the puppy at a later date. After receiving the money, the fake account was deleted. WAFF is told after months of searching for the individual running the fake page, they identified Sabrina Gabriell Esloon, age 28, as the owner of the page. DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office worked closely with other agencies trying to locate Esloon. December 21, 2020 | 4:18pm | Updated December 21, 2020 | 4:52pm Enlarge Image Martin Shkreli and Christie Smythe Getty Images; Facebook Martin Shkreli’s love scribe has unleashed a firestorm on Twitter since going public with their romance Sunday — defending herself while hailing him as a COVID-19 hero. Former Bloomberg court reporter Christie Smythe, who famously revealed her love for the publicly flayed “Pharma Bro’’ in a magazine article, has spent the past day tweeting that the convicted fraudster is no “psychopath” — and instead just a misunderstood genius who even touted a promising COVID-19 treatment before the rest of the world. “Since mid-April, researchers around the world have been looking into using leprosy drug clofazimine for COVID-19. Martin Shkreli beat them, drafting that proposal from prison in March. The government called him ‘delusional,’ ” Smythe defiantly tweeted along with two links to stories mentioning the anti-leprosy drug’s potential in combatting the coronavirus. The journalist insisted that her imprisoned beloved fraudster is no evil nut job, despite what some people think. “I realize it’s hard for many people to accept that 1. Martin is not a psychopath, and 2. a woman can choose to do something with her life…

As networking sites go, LinkedIn is a great site for promoting yourself, keeping up to date with your favorite companies, and creating and maintaining valuable professional relationships. Fortunately, the platform gives you tools to take advantage of the service without push notifications going off every time a former coworker has a birthday. Here's how to manage your notifications on both the desktop and mobile version of LinkedIn...
