BOSTON – A Boston-area man pleaded guilty today to illegally possessing a firearm while under house arrest on three state firearm charges. Trevon Bell, 27, of Boston and Lynn, pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm. U.S. District Court Chief Judge F. Dennis Saylor IV scheduled sentencing for Feb. 29, 2024. As part of a 2021 investigation into a violent Boston gang, law enforcement intercepted a Snapchat “chat” comprised of individuals who regularly displayed images of themselves in possession of firearms.  One of the individuals identified in the chat was Bell – a member of the violent Boston-based Heath Street gang. Bell had been indicted on three separate unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition cases in state court for which he was released on home detention with location monitoring via GPS bracelet. However, the investigation revealed that, while on state pre-trial release, Bell had posted numerous videos of himself in possession of firearms to Snapchat, including a Nov. 24, 2021 video that showed him in possession of a black semi-automatic Glock 9 millimeter firearm. FARGO — A Fargo couple, Tracy Colin Thomas and Cameron Danielle Thomas, have been charged with promoting child pornography and possession of prohibited materials North Dakota law enforcement. The charges were brought after an investigation revealed that Tracy Thomas had sent sexually explicit images of children to his wife on Snapchat.The investigation into the Thomases began on October 7th when Snapchat, a messaging app that allows for the temporary sharing of content, reported to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that child pornography had been uploaded to the platform. Authorities traced the source of the content to Tracy Thomas.Court documents allege that Tracy Thomas, using his Snapchat account, sent multiple sexually explicit images of children to his wife’s account, belonging to Cameron Thomas. The images reportedly depicted children between the ages of 3 and 11. Shockingly, further conversation between the couple indicates a discussion about engaging in sexual acts with one of the children featured in the pictures.Tracy Thomas has admitted to downloading approximately 20 images of child pornography and sending three of them to his wife. The adoption of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) in the U.K. is driven by teenagers and children, according to a new study from media regulator Ofcom. “Gen Z driving early adoption,” it says in the summary of the latest version of its annual Ofcom Online Nation 2023 report, published just after midnight London time on Tuesday. Generation Z is defined as people “born between the late 1990s and the early 2010s.” Especially the younger members of that group have been embracing AI. “Four in five (79 percent) online teenagers aged 13-17 now use Generative AI tools and services, with a significant minority of younger children aged 7-12 also adopting the technology (40 percent),” according to Ofcom. “Adult internet users aged 16 and above are, on average, comparatively more reluctant users of Generative AI (31 percent).” Meanwhile, 69 percent of respondents said they have never used the technology. Of those, 24 percent “have no idea what it is,” the survey found. Snapchat (File) A 28-year-old Florida man has been arrested in the sexual battery of a 14-year-old girl he met on Snapchat, picked up in Tampa, and drove back to Volusia County. Derran L. Bibbs, 28, of DeLand, is charged with sexual battery, kidnapping, and interference with child custody in the incident which was reported to Volusia sheriff’s detectives on Monday. The 14-year-old Tampa girl told detectives she’d been communicating with Bibbs on Snapchat, and asked him to pick her up from a friend’s apartment on Sunday night. After picking her up, Bibbs started driving the girl back to Volusia County. After the incident, the girl contacted a friend, who reached 911 in Volusia County. A search began for Bibbs’ vehicle, and it was soon spotted by a Lake Helen police officer on I-4 around the 114-mile marker near DeLand. WWE fans are buzzing about Survivor Series, as the company is set to take over the Allstate Arena on November 25th.
