Snapchat AR glasses with lenses that generate visuals The Snap Spectacles, a pair of AR glasses  from Snapchat, have lenses that generate the images and sounds of the book the user is reading. Named Augmented Reading Lenses, it’s a collaboration between the National Library Board of Singapore and Snap Inc., with LePub Singapore as the campaign’s production lead. These Snapchat AR glasses and lenses use real-time OCR, or the conversion of typed text into a digital format, and generative AI to produce the visuals. The device already has stereo speakers, so the soundscapes are a natural addition to the reading experience. all images courtesy of Snap Inc., National Library Board of Singapore, and LePub Singapore Sounds play as the user reads the text The Snapchat AR glasses and lenses use text recognition and machine learning to see the content the user is reading and activate the related visuals and sounds. In this case, when the book describes a kind of environmental or action sound, like doors opening, the Snapchat AR glasses

Ohio Man Sentenced to 30 Years in Prison for Sexually Exploiting Child He Met Online

CHICAGO — A federal judge has sentenced an Ohio man to 30 years in prison for sexually exploiting a Chicago-area girl with whom he communicated on social media. ANDREW BOLTZ began communicating with the then-16-year-old girl in 2020 on the social media application Omegle. Boltz continued communicating with the girl via text messaging and the social media application Snapchat. During these communications, Boltz enticed the victim into sending him sexually explicit images of herself.  Boltz instructed the girl on what type of sexually explicit conduct should be portrayed in the images. A federal jury in 2023 convicted Boltz, 27, of Kenton, Ohio, on exploitation and child pornography charges.  The victim bravely testified at trial about being manipulated and degraded by Boltz. U.S. District Judge John Robert Blakey imposed the 30-year prison sentence during a hearing on Friday in federal court in Chicago.  The sentence was announced by Andrew S. Boutros, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois, and Douglas S. DePodesta, Special Agent-in-Charge of the Chicago Field Office of the FBI. Valuable assistance was provided by the Peru, Ill. Police Department, LaSalle County, Ill. AITA for purposely failing a loyalty test because I felt like it was wrong to test me I (19M) recently received a follower on Instagram and an add on Snapchat. It was from a girl that lives over 3 hours away. I had no mutuals with her, and keep in mind, I have a private account. This man eventually realized it was a loyalty test. This immediately threw up red flags as this person would have had to search me out. I did not immediately add the girl back until I did some looking. I realized I knew exactly what this was—a test. His girlfriend brought it up, and he responded. So, I added her back. I did not come across flirty or interested. I just played along until my girlfriend (18F) brought it up, to which I said, “Yeah, the girl that was loyalty testing me.” He

184 million logins for Instagram, Roblox, Facebook, Snapchat, and more exposed online

A recent discovery by cybersecurity researcher Jeremiah Fowler of an unsecured database containing over 184 million unique login credentials has once again highlighted the growing threat posed by infostealers. While the sheer volume of exposed data—including emails, passwords, and authorization URLs—is alarming, the real concern is not just about the exposure itself, but in how cybercriminals collect and weaponize these credentials. This trove of data from a wide range of services like email providers, Microsoft, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Roblox, and many more, doesn’t appear to have been leaked by accident by someone who obtained the data legitimately. More likely, it was amassed by infostealers—malicious software (malware) that are designed specifically to gather sensitive information from infected devices. These malware variants silently extract credentials stored in browsers, email clients, messaging apps, and even crypto wallets. They often arrive via phishing emails, malicious websites, or bundled with cracked software. An infamous example of an infostealer is the Lumma Stealer, which recently suffered a serious disruption of its infrastructure by authorities. Unfortunately, there are several others which may not be as widespread as Lumma, but at least at the same level of sophistication. What this means is that the exposed credentials are likely
