The Daily Breeze: In which the Snapchat AI Practices Gaslighting – Oil City News

Photo Credit: Tommy Culkin, Oil City News I have…somewhat of a contentious relationship with the Snapchat AI. You’ve read our attempt at trying to get it to write the intro to The Breeze. That went well. However, today, I was perusing the internet and read that a man had tried to get his own Snapchat AI to leave him on read. This piqued my curiosity, as I’m pretty used to people leaving me on read, so I wanted to see what would happen when I asked Alfred, my Snapchat AI, to do it. Unsurprisingly, it did not go how I thought it would, and I ended up in an inadvertent Abbott and Costello bit.  So anyway. I’ve never been gaslighted (gaslit?) by Artificial Intelligence before. And I’ll tell you something – I don’t like it. I don’t like it one bit.  But! I do like the stories that we have today. We’re focusing on a mock courtroom trial featuring some of Casper’s budding lawyers, as all as a tribute to fallen officers during National Police Week, and an invitation for a community remembrance event coming up. They’re some heavy topics, but they’re important.  Nice weather is also important and we’re actually going to get some

Former ByteDance Employee Accuses TikTok Of Stealing Content From Snapchat And Instagram

News-By Bogdana ZujicUpdated May, 13 2023, 2:45:00 PMA former head of engineering for ByteDance's US operations, Yintao Yu, is taking the company to court over wrongful termination and has alleged that TikTok stole content from Snapchat and Instagram in order to boost engagement. The allegations were filed in San Francisco Superior Court on Friday. Yu claims he was fired from his position because he raised concerns about ByteDance stealing and profiting from other companies' intellectual property to increase TikTok engagement and user numbers. Yu also alleged that ByteDance had a special unit of Chinese Communist Party members, known as the "Committee", who guided the company on how to advance core Communist values. ByteDance denied the allegations, calling them "baseless". TikTok has come under extensive scrutiny from US legislators in recent months due to concerns over Chinese Communist Party interference in its parent company and the risk of US users' personal data being shared with the Chinese government. Was this article helpful? This helps us improve our website.

A chatbot that can advise teenagers how to hide pot and lose their virginity? Nothing creepy …

See you in about six months.)Seriously, though, why not ban Snapchat My AI? It’s a chatbot powered by artificial intelligence designed to operate as a virtual friend. It evolves as it chats to you and is baked into one of the apps most used by teenagers and younger kids. Nothing creepy about that at all.I’m not calling for a ban just for the obvious reasons, some of which are outlined in the Washington Post by Geoffrey A. Fowler. He posed as a 15-year-old planning a party in what used to be quaintly known in Ireland as a free gaff. My AI told him how to hide the smell of pot and alcohol. Or because Aza Raskin from the Center for Humane Technology posed as a 13-year-old asking for advice about how to make losing her virginity to a 31-year-old special. After issuing bromides about feeling ready and making sure to have safe sex, the chatbot suggested having flowers and pleasant music to create a romantic atmosphere.Or
