Montreal police seek potential victims of lawyer charged with sexual abuse of minors

A Montreal-based civil lawyer arrested last week and facing several charges involving alleged sexual abuse of minors might have other victims, the Montreal police say. Daniel Rochefort, 72, was arrested by the Montreal police and was charged on Friday with producing “material of abuse and pedo-sexual exploitation” and corrupting children. On the latter count, he is alleged to have communicated with an investigator posing as a 12-year-old girl through telecommunication. He was detained over the weekend and when he appeared before a judge at the Montreal courthouse on Monday, he learned he faces another series of charges. In the more recent case, Rochefort faces four counts each of sexual interference and invitation to sexual touching. He is also charged with sexual assault. All of the charges involve the same person, a minor. The alleged offences took place between 2007 and 2012, and some are alleged to have taken place in a foreign country. Rochefort remains detained and has another court hearing scheduled for later this week. “Investigative teams from the two specialized units have reason to believe that Daniel Rochefort may have had other victims. The events he is accused of allegedly took place between 2007 and 2026,” the Montreal

What are Snapchat Cameo Stories and why are they gaining attention again? – News.az

Snapchat continues expanding its personalized entertainment ecosystem through features such as Cameos, Cameo Stories and AI powered visual storytelling tools. As social media platforms increasingly focus on customization and artificial intelligence, Snapchat Cameo Stories have emerged as one of the app’s most interactive and engaging content formats. The feature allows users to place their own faces into animated story sequences, humorous clips and personalized video reactions that can be shared across Snapchat Stories and chats. With the growing popularity of AI driven content and short form entertainment, Cameo Stories are once again attracting significant user interest worldwide. What are Snapchat Cameos? Snapchat Cameos are animated visual clips that use a user’s selfie to create personalized reactions and short videos. Instead of sending ordinary emojis or GIFs, users can insert their real facial appearance into moving scenes and animations. The feature works by capturing a selfie and digitally mapping the user’s facial features onto animated characters. Snapchat then generates customized clips where the user appears inside comedic, dramatic or themed scenarios. Originally introduced as a fun messaging feature, Cameos have evolved into a broader storytelling and content creation tool integrated into several parts of the Snapchat platform. What are Cameo Stories?

Northfield SRO pleads guilty after not reporting teacher who sent nude photos to students

By WCCO Staff May 10, 2026 / 4:05 PM CDT / CBS Minnesota Add CBS News on Google A Minnesota school resource officer who did not report a middle school teacher for sending sexual photos of herself to high school students  pleaded guilty to aiding an offender. Gabriel Crombie, 34, is expected to be sentenced for the crime on July 14, according to court records. The conviction comes after, in December 2024, a student reported Katie Hanson , 38, for sending him and other boys inappropriate photos via Snapchat. The student told police he reported Hanson's behavior to Crombie, a school resource officer; however, police did not find any documentation of the report. Charging documents said Hanson admitted to sending nude photos to several boys, the youngest of whom was in eighth grade. She told investigators that Crombie approached her in April about a report made by a teacher, at which point she confessed "everything" to him. She said he was going to "do her a favor" and "let the case go," and the two began a relationship. Hanson had been a teacher at Northfield Middle School, but she resigned the same month the boy reported her. She was  sentenced

AdultFriendFinder vs. Snapchat: Which is better for sexting? | Mashable

In the 21st century, flirting is no longer just something you do at a bar or club after a few drinks to build up your confidence. In fact, more often than not, it's a text- or photo-based exchange conducted between smartphones, with fingers doing the flirting that tongues used to manage. Getting exact data on how many people are digitizing their flirtations isn't easy, but for one example, consider the DirtySnapchat subreddit : it boasts over one million members and nearly 130,000 weekly visitors. Of course, as sexting became more popular, we gained exponentially more ways to engage in it, from naughty websites to flirty dating apps to clever in-between options, where a suggestive text message or a racy photo are all part of the fun. It's also becoming increasingly common for services to offer a hybrid feature set, so that what begins as a fun text-based conversation and escalates to photo exchanges might finish off with a live video chat.  Today we're comparing two of the most popular options for sexting: AdultFriendFinder and Snapchat. Both platforms offer a bevy of fun features to help you get your flirt on through texts, photos and videos, and both have some clever

Minnetonka Hall Monitor Busted In Snapchat Sex Plea – Hoodline

A former Eagle Ridge Academy hall monitor in Minnetonka has admitted in court to using electronic messages to send sexual content to a minor, according to court records. Ibrahim Haji, 28, pleaded guilty Thursday to one count of engaging in electronic communication relating or describing sexual conduct with a person under 18. Under a plea agreement, prosecutors expect two other felony counts to be dropped: soliciting a child to engage in sexual conduct and distributing material that relates to sexual conduct to a child. The single remaining count still carries a potential sentence of up to five years in prison and a maximum fine of $10,000 if the judge imposes the statutory maximum. Plea agreement filed in Hennepin County According to CBS Minnesota, the guilty plea was filed May 8, 2026, in Hennepin County and reflects a deal worked out between prosecutors and Haji's defense attorneys. The agreement, as described in the report, allows prosecutors to dismiss two of the three original charges as part of the bargain, leaving the single electronic-communication count as the basis for the conviction. Evidence outlined in the complaint Investigators, as summarized by Crime Watch MN in coverage carried by Alpha News, say they recovered
