Snapchat Shares New Insights into What Motivates and Inspires Gen Z Consumers

What are Gen Z consumers looking for in brand messaging, and how do social media promotions influence their purchase decisions? Snapchat recently sought to dig deeper into the key trends via a new study, conducted in partnership with Omnicom Media Group, which looked at the key motivations of Gen Z consumers, and how brands can best align their messaging with evolving expectations. As per Snap: “Context matters for this generation and how brands show up – through messaging and media selection. If brands nail these two concepts, they’re already winning. Don’t worry, it's not a complete redrawing of the plan, but rather a meaningful adjustment in your planning process that will help you move the needle among Gen Z.” The main finding is that Gen Z consumers are increasingly loyal to businesses that speak about social issues, post information about such, or promote social change. “Gen Z expects brands to be drivers of social change and look for fair labor practices, inclusivity and sustainability. FBI: Suspect's social media usernames released to identify possible underage victims

Jacob Jacobsen, 27, is accused of enticing underage girls to create and send sexually explicit videos and photos through social media, according to the FBI. They released the names of the alleged accounts in order to identify possible victims.  He allegedly used two Snapchat accounts, trippinj and treydawgg2000, and an Instagram account, loudpack.sd. The FBI said he may have used aliases such as Jacob, Jake, James or Trey and pretended to be 16 or 17 years old. Guardians who believe their child may be a victim are asked to fill out a questionnaire on the FBI’s website — even if the information has already been given to law enforcement. Those under the age of 18 who believe they may be a victim should ask their guardian to fill out the form.  Victims could receive restitution, eligibility for certain services and other rights under federal and/or state law.  The identities of

Isaiah Foster was charged after a student showed Snapchat messages to Sammamish High School administrators where Foster allegedly threatened to bring guns to campus. BELLEVUE, Wash. — A former Bellevue School District student is accused of threatening to bring a gun to Sammamish High School eight days after a protection order was filed against him. Isaiah Ahron Foster, 18, was charged Monday with felony harassment and felony cyber harassment. His bail was set at $1 million, which was what prosecutors requested due to the “high likelihood” that Foster would commit a violent offense. On Dec. 9, investigators said a student showed the principal at Sammamish High School screenshots from Snapchat messages with Foster, which included a picture of seven or eight long guns and rifle bags and a message saying he was going to bring his guns to the student’s school. The administrator called 911, and the school was placed into lockdown. The school stayed locked down until Foster was arrested at his home in north Seattle about two hours later. Central Coast man sentenced to a decade in jail for producing child abuse material

A CENTRAL Coast man has been sentenced to 10 years in jail for producing child abuse material and sharing it online. An investigation started in December 2020 following a report by the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to the AFP-led Australian Centre to Counter Child Exploitation (ACCCE) about an online user uploading videos of young girls to Snapchat and a cloud storage and file hosting service.AFP investigators linked the man, 34, from Kanwal, Central Coast, to the illegal online activity.In March 2021, AFP Eastern Command Child Protection investigators with support from specialists in imagery and geomatics and digital forensics, executed search warrants at the man's home, where officers seized an electronic device and charged him with child-abuse related offences.The man pleaded guilty at the Gosford Local Court on February 9, 2022, to 12 child abuse-related offences:They included three counts of producing child abuse material with the intention of committing an offence, five counts of using a carriage service to make available child abuse material, one count of using a carriage service to solicit child abuse material and two counts of using a carriage service to transmit child abuse material.He also plead guilty to one count of failing to comply
