A 26-year-old man pleaded guilty on June 3 in Prince George Provincial Court to sexual interference. Austin Riley Zwiers appeared by video from Kamloops Regional Correctional Centre and maintained a not guilty plea to assault, despite admitting to several arguments that turned violent. A publication ban protects her identity. Court heard that Zwiers met a girl on Snapchat in June or July 2024. They were involved in an on-again, off-again intimate relationship. The agreed statement of facts described several incidents since December 2024 that turned violent and resulted in bruising to the girl. On March 15, 2025, while in his vehicle, Zwiers raised his hands in a manner that caused the girl to believe he was about to strike her. On May 5, 2025, he punched her approximately eight times in the spine, tailbone, head and legs and ripped hair from her head. Earlier, on March 7, Zwiers punched the girl in the head and body approximately five or six times. Judge Charles Hutchinson ordered a pre-sentence report and a forensic psychiatric assessment, including a risk assessment for sexual violence, and set Sept. 9 as the next court date. A 31-year-old Tucson man pleaded guilty this week to two counts of production of child pornography. Shams Khan Rehman will face sentencing on Sept. 3. According to a news release from The United States Attorney's Office, District of Arizona, the plea agreement said Rehman admitted that he used Snapchat to watch adults, whom he paid, exploit several minors under the age of 12. The people produced images and videos documenting the abuse, the news release said. They would then send Rehman the files. Rehman also redistributed some of the images and videos to other Snapchat users, the news release said.

A man pled guilty during a change of plea hearing in Superior Court Tuesday afternoon to sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl he met on Snapchat. Scott Robert Santos, 24, pleaded guilty to one count of third degree criminal sexual conduct and possession of child pornography. Santos was accused in 2025 of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl he met on Snapchat and recording the assault. Initially, Santos was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct, one count each of possession of child pornography and electronic enticement of a child, all as second-degree felonies. As part of the plea agreement, one count of his criminal sexual conduct charge and his electronic enticement of a child charge were dismissed. Santos faces a jail term of 10 years, but with four years suspended, according to the court. According to a magistrate’s complaint filed in Superior Court, Santos told police he had sex with the girl and recorded the encounter, but he said the girl “told him that she was 16 years old.” The girl told police the two met on Snapchat, where he said he was 23 and she said she was 15. The arrest happened on May 28 after an eight-month long sex abuse investigation. Investigators say Christopher Jay Webb used Snapchat to contact the 17-year-old Sweet Home girl. He then sent sexually explicit images and videos of himself to her. He also asked her to send him sexually explicit images of her. ALSO READ: Lawsuit: Unlicensed massage therapist at Lloyd Center parlor sexually assaulted patrons According to the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, Webb used Snapchat to contact other minors, indicating to them that he worked at Coffee Creek Correctional Facility. Webb was taken to jail where he faces one count of luring a minor. The investigation is ongoing and investigators released a photo of Webb because they say they are concerned there may be other victims.
