An employee at a school in Newberg went to work in blackface last week and has been placed on administrative leave, according to a message from the district.The Newberg School District wrote in a release, “It is important to remember how Blackface has been used to misrepresent Black communities and do harm. We acknowledge the violence this represents and the trauma it evokes regardless of intention.”According to a staff member who spoke to the Newberg Graphic on condition of anonymity, the school employee claimed to be wearing blackface to protest Oregon’s COVID-19 vaccination mandates, and was attempting to look like civil rights icon Rosa Parks.The school employee’s racist action comes a week after the district acknowledged at least one Newberg High School student was part of a Snapchat group engaged in racist and threatening speech. Most of the videos showing the attacks on police stations across the country during last year’s #EndSARS protests were downloaded from the internet, Oludotun Odubona, an Assistant Commissioner of Police, told the Lagos Judicial Panel of Enquiry on Friday. Mr Odubona, who represented Hakeem Odumosu, the state’s police commissioner, disclosed this while being cross-examined by Adesina Ogunlana and Oluwatomi Olagunju, counsels to the #EndSARS protesters. Mr Odubona had earlier presented several videos to the panel explaining how police officers were attacked and the activities of #EndSARS protesters. “You have brought several videos before the panel. The Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven are investigated an attempted extortion.According to Troopers, on August 27th, 2021, it was reported to police that someone hacked the snapchat of a 21 year old male from Washington Township and stole private photographs.  The unknown suspect asked for money and in exchange would not leak the photographs.Troopers say the incident is still under investigation.Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact the Schuylkill Haven Barracks at (570) 754-4600.

Alex Cole is being charged with criminal sexual penetration, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and two counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor. According to an affidavit obtained by KTSM 9 News, the alleged victim said she met Cole on Snapchat and that he later assaulted her two days later. The alleged victim claims Cole picked her up in a black motorcycle near her home then took her to a converted garage where he lives. She alleges that she saw a white powder inside the garage that she says Cole told her was cocaine. The victim says she “smelled the drugs” then began to feel dizzy and lightheaded. She says Cole then penetrated her. She says the two lay on Cole’s brown bed sheets and white pillowcases when he removed her clothes and began kissing her, then tried to pressure her to perform sexual acts on…
