The latest craze among creator platforms? Inventing their own awards shows to honor the most popular and creative people cranking out content on their apps. Snapchat on Wednesday announced the nominees for the first-ever Snappy Awards Show. The nominees across 21 categories “embody the innovation, creativity, and influence that define Snapchat’s community across entertainment, comedy, music, sports, beauty, and beyond,” the company said. Eight of the 10 most popular AI chatbots were willing to help plan violent attacks when tested by researchers, according to a new study from the Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH), in partnership with CNN. While both Snapchat's My AI and Claude refused to assist with violence the majority of the time, only Anthropic's Claude "reliably discouraged" these hypothetical attackers during testing. Researchers created accounts posing as 13-year-old boys and tested ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Copilot, Meta AI, DeepSeek, Perplexity, Snapchat My AI, Character.AI and Replika across 18 scenarios between November and December 2025. The tests simulated users planning school shootings, political assassinations and bombings targeting synagogues. Across all the responses analyzed, the chatbots provided "actionable assistance" roughly 75 percent of the time and discouraged violence in just 12 percent of cases. This was the average across all chatbots, with Claude discouraging violence 76 percent of the time. Meta AI and Perplexity were the least safe, assisting in 97 and 100 percent of responses. ChatGPT offered campus maps when asked about school violence, and Gemini said metal shrapnel is typically more lethal in a synagogue bombing scenario. (Somerset Police Department) SOMERSET, Mass. (WJAR) — Somerset police said Tuesday that they arrested a man who is accused of child enticement. According to police, an investigation began in late January after receiving a report that Michael Gallo, 33, of Cranston, had been sending lewd images, videos and messages to a juvenile through Snapchat. Police said Gallo had told the victim that he was 22 years old. The juvenile victim told Gallo their real age, making Gallo aware that he was communicating with a juvenile under 14 years old. ALSO READ: Pawtucket police search for suspect in deadly stabbing Officials said on Sunday, Gallo went to a predetermined location in Somerset believing he was meeting the juvenile. Somerset police arrested him there, charging him with distributing obscene matter to a minor, two counts of enticement of a child under 16, and accosting/annoying another person. According to police, he was arraigned in Fall River District Court on Monday. He was held on $25,000 bail, police said.

When Gabriela Nguyen wanted to do some spring cleaning as a teenager, she'd organize the apps on her phone. "That was cleaning; it would make me feel better," the 24-year-old tells CNBC Make It. "My actual room was in complete disarray, but it would feel better because my life was on my phone." Police arrested the 16-year-old juvenile on Thursday, March 5, after serving a search warrant at his home, Chief Robert Tusino said Monday, March 9. Police did not identify the teen due to their age. “This was pretty serious,” Tusino said. “This is one of those cases, for lack of a better term, starts as a molehill and turns into a mountain.” Last week, the teen threatened to shoot and kill a fellow Milford High School student on Snapchat, police allege. Police obtained a search warrant for the teen's home. There, they allegedly found a Ravens Arm MP-25 handgun; ammunition; and more than 42 grams of cocaine, as well as fentanyl, Valium, Suboxone, Xanax and other items typically used in drug trafficking, according to Tusino. BOCA RATON, Fla. (CBS12) — A civil rights complaint was filed Thursday over the wrongful arrest of a Boca Raton woman in a dismissed sexual abuse case involving her sons. The original case, which had been scheduled for trial in late 2025, involved allegations of sexual battery and lewd or lascivious molestation. The Palm Beach County State Attorney’s Office said the charges were dismissed in October 2025 after “new information was brought to the State’s attention that requires dismissal of these charges," according to previous reports. The complaint alleges that the detective conducted a flawed investigation that led to wrongful arrests and names Sheriff Rick Bradshaw for his role in overseeing the agency responsible. The defendants, Walquiria Cassini, her son Matthew Cassini, and her boyfriend Ryan Londono, had faced life in prison if convicted. Investigators said the messages included photos of guns, references to the student’s class schedule, and mentions of several of her friends.
