Snapchat Parent Company Takes Over Former 23andMe Lease in Sunnyvale – Bisnow

Snap Inc. snapped up the 156K SF lease at the building previously slated for 23andMe’s corporate headquarters in a rare full-building lease deal for Silicon Valley, CoStar reported.  Snap Inc. leased the entire building at 221 N. Mathilda Ave. in Sunnyvale, California. The deal for the Sunnyvale property at 221 N. Mathilda Ave., finalized last week, comes as the social media app Snapchat’s parent company expands its Bay Area footprint. The company also leases a space in Palo Alto. The Sunnyvale deal revives the fortunes of a property that has struggled to secure a long-term tenant since construction wrapped in 2019. The landlord, San Francisco-based Spear Street Capital, recently reacquired the building for $87M, $100M less than what Stockbridge Capital Partners paid for it in 2019. Though 23andMe had preleased the entire project, the pandemic derailed plans to move in as employees worked from home, which drastically reduced the need for office space. The company never moved in, instead subleasing the space to cloud computing company CoreWeave Inc. Following 23andMe’s March bankruptcy filing, CoreWeave requested a return of its $250K security deposit as 23andMe moved to abandon its lease and reject the sublease.  Snap’s investment in Sunnyvale follows Apple’s notable purchase of Mathilda

Seth Rollins & Becky Lynch’s Southern California Home Burglarized While Away for WWE RAW

Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch were hit with a nightmare back home while they were on the road for WWE — their Southern California beach house was burglarized early Tuesday morning. According to TMZ, Cops say the Playa Del Rey property was broken into around 3 AM — just hours after the couple performed at Monday Night RAW in Providence, Rhode Island. Thankfully, no one was inside the house at the time, including their four-year-old daughter, Roux. Law enforcement said the suspect or suspects forced their way in through the rear sliding glass door and made off with cash. Rollins, was the one who made the 911 call to report it. So far, no arrests have been made, and the investigation is still ongoing. The couple has been seen at the home frequently — in fact, Lynch posted a shot of Rollins relaxing in the living room just last month. They’ve owned the property for some time and often spend downtime there with their daughter. This situation is still developing, but it’s a harsh reminder that fame doesn’t shield anyone from crime — even when your day job involves throwing people through tables. What’s your take on this situation? Should

Americans Most Eager to Ditch Instagram, Facebook, and X, Study Finds

Instagram may be a social media giant, but more people in the U.S. seem ready to walk away from it than any other platform. A new analysis of Google search trends shows that users are searching in droves for ways to delete or deactivate their Instagram accounts, putting it at the top of the list of platforms Americans most want to leave behind. Between April 2024 and March 2025, there were more than 545,000 average monthly searches nationwide for terms related to quitting Instagram. That includes phrases like “delete Instagram account,” “how to deactivate Instagram,” and “Instagram addiction.” Facebook came in a close second, with just over 538,000 monthly searches, while other platforms like X (formerly Twitter), Snapchat, and Telegram trailed far behind. The findings come from a study conducted by health and recovery publisher Recovered, which analyzed search behavior across all 50 states using Google Keyword Planner. The goal was to figure out not just which apps people were tired of, but also where in the country users were most likely to look for an exit from social media altogether. To level the playing field between high- and low-population states, the researchers adjusted the data to reflect search volume

Speeding Audi driver, 17, told worried friend ‘I know these lanes, mate’ before horror crash …

Three teenage friends died in a horror crash after a 'naïve, young and inexperienced' driver lost control of his Audi the day after passing his test, an inquest heard today. Jenson Bridges, 17, smashed into a tree while driving his Audi A1 hatchback at 'excessive speed' – seconds after reassuring one of his four passengers 'I know these lanes, mate'. Jenson, who was head boy at his school died alongside Taekwondo world champion Simon Evans, 18, and restaurant worker Jacob Holeman, 17. The fourth occupant of the car, George Taylor, 17, suffered life-changing injuries but survived the smash on a lane at Tong, near Shifnal, Shropshire. The inquest also heard that a 20-second Snapchat video was taken by Simon Evans just seconds before the crash, late on March 14. In the video, the sound of Jenson Bridges wheel-spinning his car was heard as he took off along Offoxey Road. Later in the video, a voice was heard to say 'slow down', followed by the reply 'Simon, I know these lanes, mate'. An inquest heard Jenson had passed his driving test just the day before the crash and the group met up with eight other friends to 'go for a drive.'

Confirmed – Apple accuses ex-engineer of stealing Vision Pro secrets and handing them …

Apple claims that one of its former employees stole highly sensitive data about the Apple Vision Pro, leading to details emerging before the virtual glasses were even released. The phone giant has filed a lawsuit against engineer Di Liu in Santa Clara County Superior Court, alleging that the former engineer stole important Vision Pro trade secrets to develop the glasses for Snap Inc. The Silicon Valley company is seeking damages. Di Liu worked at Apple on the development of the Apple Vision Pro Liu worked at Apple for no less than seven years, rising to become a senior product design engineer. New wave of homophobic attacks targets users of gay dating apps like Grindr – ABC News

Josh is lying on a footpath, curled up into a ball, his head covered with his hands as three men lay into him with metal bars. "Am I going to make it out of here alive?" he remembered thinking. "What's going to happen?" He managed to get up but stumbled a few times after receiving blows to his head. The men were laughing at him. One of them was filming. "They were calling me a paedophile," Josh, whose name has been changed to protect his identity, told 7.30. Josh was so badly beaten he almost ended up in intensive care. "Apparently I had lost so much blood that my blood pressure had dropped so low they were considering taking me to ICU." It was spring 2024 in Melbourne's bayside suburbs. Josh's Saturday night had turned into the early hours of Sunday morning. Like many men on the hook-up app Grindr, he'd been "looking". Grindr is one of the apps being used because users can be relatively anonymous. (Adobe Stock) Josh, now in his 30s, has used Grindr since he was 18. He started chatting to a user whose profile had three face pics, unlike the others, and "filled out" details.

Tala Tonga Officially Introduced as New Member of Solo Sikoa’s MFT on WWE SmackDown

The family just got bigger. On the July 4th episode of WWE SmackDown, Solo Sikoa made it official—Tala Tonga is now part of his MFT, which stands for My Family Tree. The announcement came just weeks after Tala’s main roster debut at WWE Night of Champions, where he attacked Jacob Fatu and helped Solo capture the United States Championship. Tala, formerly known as Hikuleo in NJPW, made an immediate impact when he showed up at Night of Champions, making it clear that his loyalty lies with Solo Sikoa and not the wider Anoa’i family drama. The same night Tala made his debut, his brother Tonga Loa also returned from injury, marking his first appearance since WWE Survivor Series 2024. With Tala Tonga now officially part of MFT, the group includes Solo Sikoa, Tonga Loa, JC Mateo, and Tama Tonga, who remains out with an injury. The faction continues to grow as Solo builds his own version of family dominance on SmackDown, separate from Roman Reigns and The Bloodline. Love them or hate them, the MFT isn’t going anywhere—and with Solo pulling the strings, it’s only getting more dangerous. What do you think of Tala Tonga officially joining Solo’s crew? Please
