Posted By: Larry Felton Johnson January 23, 2026 By Larry Felton Johnson Since the Cobb County Board of Education decided to remove public comments from its livestream of both work sessions and regular meetings, I’ve been attending the meetings and livestreaming the comments. The audio quality of the livestreams have been poor, so I decided last night that until I can choose and purchase upgraded equipment that suitable for livestreaming, I’ll just do a direct recording, edit it and post it the next day. I find that the audio quality is better, although I think as I work with the video editing software, I can get it much better even than this. But the video below is much more understandable than the audio of our past livestreams.

Before all of the more modern social media sites, the Internet was big on blogs, and Tumblr was one of the top choices for blog-making. Tumblr was a social media site popular with teens and young adults in the 2010s, and for good reason. It was a huge gathering place for those into fandoms, to start, and it was one of the most customizable platforms around. People could modify their blogs to appear exactly how they wanted them to. On top of that, the site also allowed just about anything, which people liked, but also caused some issues. Over the years, Tumblr experienced some changes in terms of ownership and rules. With new owners came new rules that banned a lot of content people liked. These changes, among other things, drove some people away from Tumblr onto new platforms. Kimberly McCoy of Cartersville  fills the unexpired term of Margaret “Meg” Heap, who left the board to take up duties as U.S . Attorney for the Southern District of Georgia. McCoy retired last year from the Cobb Family Justice Center and previously had served twenty-five years as the director of the Victim-Witness Assistance Unit with the Cobb County District Attorney’s Office. “I am grateful for the opportunity to serve Georgians in this new role,” said McCoy, who added that she looks forward to continuing the board’s work of making informed, scientific public safety decisions while working to safeguard victim’s rights and giving second chances to the deserving.
