With parent company Amazon’s notorious money-hunger, in stark contrast to YouTube’s industry standard for creator pay, this move has sparked hot debate over revenue split. A brand new ‘Cheer’ system itself now takes clear design inspiration from YouTube’s ‘Super Chat’ feature. The primary way for viewers on YouTube’s livestream platform to donate to streamers. The League of Legends streamer allegedly received a ban because he made, what could be interpreted as, a bomb threat against his internet service provider. Shortly after the Twitter account, StreamerBans announced Sanch's suspension, he quoted the tweet to let people know he doesn't care. Why Sanchovies was banned from Twitch The Canadian streamer was banned on Twitch for making an alleged bomb threat against his internet service provider, Rogers Communications, on stream. While no clip is available of the comment, viewers of the streamer have cited that comment as the most likely reason for the ban. Specifically, he said he wanted to plant a claymore mine, a remote explosive device, inside the headquarters of Rogers Communications. While most likely said as a joke or out of frustration, it is justified on the part of Twitch to take these threats very seriously and issue the streamer a punishment. Some people said that the threat was directed at Riot Games, the creators of League of Legends. Fan Controlled Football reported record-breaking viewership for the opening week of the league’s second season. The professional indoor football league, which has eight teams and plays its games at Pratt-Pullman Yards in Atlanta, generated 2.5 million total live views across streaming platforms Twitch, NBCLX, DAZN, and FuboTV. It was an uptick of nearly 30% from the 700,000 live views last year. The four games included the league’s original four franchises, plus the four expansion teams that joined for the 2022 season.  The first week of action also featured a touchdown by 48-year-old NFL Hall of Famer and Zappers wide receiver Terrell Owens. The highlight received more than 10 million views across FCF’s social media platforms, and the 15 million total views across social platforms was also an FCF record.  FCF teams are owned by some of the most prominent names in sports and entertainment. On April 13, Twitch was flooded with fake Elon Musk accounts promoting a cryptocurrency scam, but they were swiftly taken down by the platform. And today, it appears the scammers are back with a new tactic, this time choosing to take over the popular but inactive Twitch account of Fedmyster. The account broadcasted a prerecorded video of Elon Musk discussing Bitcoin and Ethereum with multiple links to a nefarious website, according to viewers. Since then, the account has been banned from Twitch. But there has been no official statement from Fedmyster or the Amazon-owned platform regarding the duration of the suspension. The announcement of Fedmyster’s ban comes from the automated Twitter account StreamerBans, which has no affiliation with Twitch itself. It’s unlikely that Fedmyster himself will comment on the situation because the streamer has been inactive on social media for months following an attempted return to Twitch after sexual misconduct allegations arose against him in June 2020. Fedmyster tried to recover from the situation with a stream on June 23, 2021, but after massive community backlash, the streamer began to broadcast infrequently and eventually disappeared from social media entirely.
