In 2017, I began streaming on Twitch, a livestreaming platform primarily focused on video game-related content, as a short-term academic project to help rework a conference presentation I was developing into a book chapter. By the end of the six-week project, I was having so much fun filming episodes with friends that we continued under the name “Ludomusicology Thursdays,” reflecting the discipline we studied — video game music and sound — and time we were available to record and broadcast. A few months later, I interviewed at Michigan State University. During that process, I proposed a course that would teach students how to produce the kind of multi-camera, multi-source broadcasts I had been creating. That idea became MI 334: Esports Broadcasting, a course I have now taught each fall

Twitch Streamer Rescues Struggling Paddleboarder – EarlyGame

Twitch streamer EpicVoyages spots a struggling paddleboarder during one of his fishing trips and helps her get back to shore. What a weather for paddleboarding | © EpicVoyages Twitch A creator, who broadcasts himself from his boat fishing prawns, spots a paddleboarder in a precarious situation and promptly comes to the rescue. A Hero In Overalls Charlie is a different kind of content creator. He is a prawn fisherman who regularly streams himself on his Twitch channel EpicVoyages during his fishing trips off the Welsh coast. During one of his regular streams from his vessel near New Quay, Wales on March 24, right after he started his broadcast, he spotted a lone paddleboarder unusually far from shore. Especially in the rough conditions, choppy water and strong wind on this particular day, Charlie got concerned. When the paddleboarder fell off her board, the streamer sprung into action and steered his vessel towards her, eventually being able to grasp her and help her and her board onto his boat. Viewers noted that the paddleboarder seemed exhausted and had not picked the best weather for a nice relaxing session of paddleboarding. The rescued woman explained that she had been on holiday in the

The Popular Streaming Platform You Didn’t Know Was Part Of Amazon’s Portfolio

Tada Images/Shutterstock Over the years, Amazon has grown exponentially from a small online book-selling enterprise to a global technology company worth more than $2 trillion in 2026. Although Americans spend a lot on Amazon every month, this mind-boggling figure is largely driven by ad revenue and the growing Amazon Web Services (AWS) segment. In terms of market capitalization, Amazon is ranked among the top five in the world, with well over a hundred businesses under its giant umbrella. In fact, Amazon boasts subsidiaries across several industries, from MGM studios to Whole Foods and tech brands like Ring and Zoox. But fewer people are aware about its venture into video game streaming with Twitch, despite the platform often being crowned as No. 1 in the live-streaming industry. Amazon acquired Twitch back in 2014 in an effort to rival video-streaming companies like Netflix and YouTube. In fact, YouTube (owned by Google) was well on its way to capture Twitch, in what seemed like a fitting deal given the similarity of platform formats. But then Amazon shocked everyone with its $970 million move. At the time, that was the most Amazon had shelled out on a single acquisition.  Around the time of the acquisition in 2014, Twitch had around 55 million

Starting Pitcher Streamer Ranks Fantasy Baseball: 3/26 & 3/27 & 3/28

Rankings of the SP Streamers for today's, tomorrow's and the day after tomorrow's games for fantasy baseball. Every day of the 2026 baseball season, I'll be looking at today's and tomorrow's slate of scheduled starting pitchers and ranking their matchups for your fantasy baseball streams. There's a lot that goes into this and you can hang out with me on twitch.tv/pitcherlist to talk about the specific ranks as I make them every weekday morning from 10am - 12pm ET. If you have questions about these ranks, please ask during the morning Twitch AMA. Those are my office hours as I generally don't answer comments on the site. There are four tiers to these rankings with 12-teamers in mind: Auto-Start - Just do it. Don't overthink this, start the man. This includes "if I have them rostered, I'm starting them" pitchers. Probably Start - I'm likely starting these arms, though I recognize there is more risk than we'd like there to be. Either it's a tough matchup for a good-not-elite pitcher or a weak lineup for a volatile arm. These pitchers have a 50% or greater chance of performing well in my view and I'm starting them in the majority of situations.
