Amouranth reveals how female Twitch streamers get more viewers

Amouranth on Twitch / AmouranthOlivia R. January 29, 2021Controversial Twitch streamer Kaitlyn "Amouranth" Siragusa has revealed a secret to getting viewers. But it only works if you're a female streamer. Amouranth was hanging out with Devin Nash during an IRL stream, answering questions from her fellow Twitch partner. This led to some helpful hints for female Twitch streamers looking to boost their views with little or no effort on their end. She called it the new "Twitch meta."  Amouranth explains how female streamers can get more views on Twitch Nash asked Amouranth why she streams in her room. She replied that it's simply for the better lighting. Oh, and because there's a bed behind her. According to Amouranth, she can lay on the bed when she gets low on views. That's the "new meta on Twitch for girls," she added while shopping around.  Devin then asked if Amouranth used that tactic herself.  “Occasionally," Amouranth responded. "Lately, I haven’t had to because my views have been pretty okay.”  The conversation turned back to shopping soon after that moment, but it was definitely conversation viewers couldn't forget. It seemed as though Amouranth was joking, potentially mocking female streamers who rely on attracting…

Twitch Rivals: Streamer Bowl II Draft Results

Image via Twitch Rivals Twitch Rivals’ Streamer Bowl II is coming on Feb. 4 with streamers, pro NFL players and community players teaming up in trios to play Fortnite.  The competition featuring Fortnite, in partnership with the NFL Players’ Association, will pit 30 streamer-led teams against one another for a $1,000,000 prize pool that’s all going to charity.  Since Dec. 15, streamers have been playing in the “playoffs” weekly to help determine a draft order. After that, the “Streamer Bowl Cup” determined what 30 members of the Fortnite community at-large would get to join the fun. Winning last year’s inaugural Stream Bowl, Clix was awarded the first pick of this year’s draft. Streamers who placed first during the four weeks of the Playoffs were given picks two through five. The rest of the 25 streamers were given their draft position randomly. Former Fortnite World Cup champion Bugha won the first week of the Playoffs and was rewarded that second pick. The other weekly winners were StableRonaldo, Scoped, and Tocata. They rounded out the top five drafters.  With the first pick, Clix selected his partner from last year, Chicago Bears RB Tarik Cohen. Bugha then followed by selecting Atlanta Falcons quarterback Kurt…

Cloud9 Ziqo is back from ban on Twitch earlier than expected.

World of Warcraft streamer Mohammed "Ziqo" Beshir is back on Twitch after six days, six hours, and 35 minutes.  While his fans celebrated his return, Ziqo didn't seem so pleased about the situation. The streamer still demanded an explanation from Twitch. The streaming platform had never told him exactly why he was banned aside from a "copypasta" email that told Ziqo he'd used a hateful slur.  Ziqo noted that he didn't recall ever using harmful language and even reached out to Twitch to find out what was said. But according to a recent video, Ziqo was ignored by Twitch completely.  "I was never given any context. I was never given the clip. I was never given anything other than a vague reason," Ziqo ranted.  According to Ziqo, he had reached out to numerous Twitch employees, sometimes even asking for a five-minute discussion about what got him banned. While Ziqo noted that he told employees it was fine if they couldn't get him unbanned, he just wanted to make sure his side of the story was being heard.  "It felt like they were ignoring me and hoping I'd just be quiet," Ziqo recalled.  Why was Ziqo banned from Twitch?  Even though…

C9 Ziqo unbanned on Twitch after 7 days

Image via Ziqo Cloud9 streamer C9 Ziqo has finally had his ban Twitch lifted after almost an entire week. The streamer was banned from the platform last Monday in a move that left Ziqo confused about what had caused the punishment. Ziqo was told by Twitch he was banned due to using a hateful slur during his stream. While he was confident he had not intentionally used any hateful slurs, Ziqo did suggest that Twitch may have misheard him saying something else and interpreted it as something offensive. Yesterday, Ziqo released a video on his YouTube channel discussing the ban. He shared the platform had failed to provide a specific clip or example for why he had been banned. Following this, popular streamer xQc shared the video and urged Twitch to share a timestamp for when Ziqo had breached the TOS, much like they have done for him in the past. In the video, Ziqo also addressed some of the further issues that this ban is going to cause his stream and career, such as losing the opportunity to present at the Twitch Participation Ceremony due to his account now being in bad standing with the platform. Even after being…

Twitch: The Ultimate COVID-19 Beneficiary

Back in May of 2005, the world changed forever when three former PayPal employees launched their unfinished website. The free video-sharing platform Youtube was made available to anyone who had an Internet connection. With its release to the public, Youtube ushered in the era of constant content creation that began with grainy comedy sketches and cute cat edits and today covers any topic that you could think of, from home training to ASMR. In this new online world, one industry has slowly risen to the forefront—live streaming. “Live streaming” is the act of sharing content with viewers in real time, allowing creators to interact with their viewers while they are delivering their content. Previously, live content had been reserved for big broadcast stations that had access to the technology and resources to make it available to the general public. But the continued development of the Internet has created the opportunity for anyone with a phone or computer to livestream their daily activities. Youtube launched its “Youtube Live” function for content creators in 2011, but there is another platform that has competed with Youtube in this category, at times even surpassing it. In the same year, the executive team of Justin.tv launched Twitch.tv,…
