We're big fans of the 2013 Xbox exclusive fighting game Killer Instinct here at Windows Central, and we were excited to see the Xbox community rally to try and breathe new life into the game last year. Therefore, we're even more excited to hear that those efforts have blossomed into a Killer Instinct tournament being held for Twitch Rivals, hosted by none other than Killer Instinct superfan Maximilian_DOOD himself. Former Xbox president Robbie Bach explains what Microsoft was thinking when it originally tried to buy Nintendo instead of making its own console. It was revealed earlier this month that Microsoft attempted to buy Nintendo back in 2000, before being laughed out of the room, forcing the company to strike out on its own and create the original Xbox. A new conversation about the history of the Xbox shed some light on the company’s thought process at the time. Last week, former Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime hosted an “Industry Icons Roundtable” on Twitch as part of the tenth-annual New York Game Awards. When visiting a channel on Twitch, you may see a message that confirms drops are enabled. It doesn’t appear for every game, but streamers playing certain titles will highlight drops, and if the channel has them enabled, it is possible to receive free goodies for the game being played on stream. However, if you are streaming a game eligible for drops, and you have not enabled drops on your channel, you won’t participate in offering drops. Additionally, if you do not have the appropriate game account linked to your Twitch when viewing an eligible stream, you cannot receive a drop.  That said, setting them up for your channel is easier than you might think.  What are Twitch Drops? Simply put, Twitch drops are items that viewers can earn for a game by watching a streamer play it. OSU remembered their ten, but in doing so, also honored Eddie Sutton as the Pokes looked to keep their hot play alive. Avery Anderson was the one who got it rolling for Oklahoma State early. He helped the Cowboys score eight of their first 12 points. Anderson finished the game with 13 points. Right before the half, Cade Cunningham, who came off the bench, found Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe for the layup before the half. MA had 11 points and six boards as OSU had a four point lead at the break. In the second half, OSU let that lead dwindle, but they didn’t go away. Kalib Boone slammed home a big time alley-oop in a tie game. Boone was pivotal for Oklahoma State. He poured in 16 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. He did it on eight of 11 shooting. Twitch streamer completes a challenging level in Super Mario World in hilarious fashion using only voice commands with seconds to spare. Super Mario World is a game beloved by many among those in the Super Mario franchise. The classic entry into the series launched in 1991 in North America and is still considered one of the best Mario games of all time. To this day the title is still enjoyed, and in a bevy of ways. But it only works if you're a female streamer. Amouranth was hanging out with Devin Nash during an IRL stream, answering questions from her fellow Twitch partner. This led to some helpful hints for female Twitch streamers looking to boost their views with little or no effort on their end. Throughout 2020, viewers watched a combined 27.9 billion hours of content across all platforms, with viewership reaching 8.26 billion hours in just Q4 alone, according to a data report from Streamlabs and Stream Hatchet. YouTube Gaming nearly doubled its total watch time from 3.19 billion to 6.19 billion, while Facebook Gaming saw the largest growth in terms of percentages, jumping to 3.1 billion hours from 1.09 billion hours.
