Twitch: buster #buster – YouTube
July 25, 2026
It’s Monday, and we’ve got two great guests lined up. But first, we watch Rep. Maxwell Frost (D-FL) recount his gut-wrenching visit to what he calls the “Alligator Auschwitz.” Then we’re joined by Wesley Cheek, assistant professor at Massachusetts Maritime Academy, to discuss the deep-rooted corruption and dysfunction within FEMA. Later, Chris Geidner of Law Dork returns to break down the latest Supreme Court rulings—and the nine-mile stare worn by everyone seriously covering this administration. In the Fun Half We kick things off with possibly the least fun person alive, Tom Homan, as he backpedals on what qualifies as “reasonable suspicion. In Hakeem Jeffries’ interview with Punchbowl News, he appears to spread the false claim that Zohran Mamdani called to “Globalize the Intifada.” We revisit the Bulwark episode where the smear originated—and confirm Mamdani never said any such thing. Also, so what if he did? All that, plus your IMs and a whole lot more. During a recent theme park adventure in Turkey, the entertainer pulled in a peak of over 437,000 viewers on YouTube and 48,000 on Twitch, making him the most-watched streamer on both platforms at the same time. Known for his global travel vlogs, high-energy antics, and massive online presence, Speed’s latest multistream captured a viral moment when he passed out on a roller coaster while streaming. The intense ride became the highlight of his Turkey livestream and fueled a huge spike in real-time viewership across platforms. Although Twitch had previously banned Speed indefinitely, the restriction has since been lifted. With Twitch now allowing multi-platform streaming, Speed’s return to the platform was met with overwhelming support — even if his Twitch audience remains smaller than his massive YouTube base. Despite major esports events like LoL MSI wrapping up, Speed’s stream proved powerful enough to outdraw other creators, showcasing his influence. His content ranged from roller coasters and water slides to chaotic amusement park stunts — blending travel, comedy, and thrill-seeking into one unmissable broadcast. Speed's dominance on both YouTube

Top Twitch streamer IShowSpeed is currently on his European tour, and one of his stops included the scenic country of Turkey. Speed, whose real name is Darren Jason Watkins Jr., is known for IRL streaming and live streaming his adventures across the world, and one of those experiences included the famous Turkish spilling prank. In this prank, the server at a cafe or restaurant pretends to spill hot drinks or dishes on the customer, putting them in a panic; however, the bowls and cups are either empty or attached to the serving tray, giving the recipient a good scare. The same thing happened to Speed as he was sitting in a restaurant with his companions. A waiter approached him with two kettles, and one of them seemed to be steaming. Suddenly, the water drops the kettle on the streamer, who assumes it's full of hot liquid and jumps out of his seat. He is standing in the corner when the waiter shows him the empty kettles and he realises that it's a joke. At this point, Darren is livid and suddenly screams at the waiter to "stop f*cking playing," while

Coming off two straight seasons where the league was plagued by constant discussion of its fluctuating viewership and potentially dipping relevance for young fans, Cenat believes live-streaming on platforms like Twitch and YouTube can be part of the solution. In an interview on Hot Ones this week, Cenat pitched the idea of more freedom for streamers to react live to NBA games. “I know this might be a bad take, but I do think if streamers were allowed to react to the NBA, I know it’s television and things happen with traditional media,” Cenat said. “But I do feel like it’s OK or times at least are changing, where if streamers or people at home are able to react to these games, it would only be crazier. That’s one thing, I think. If we could get streamers to be able to react to NBA games live, that would be crazy.” Kai Cenat believes letting streamers host live reactions during NBA games could bring in a bigger audience and grow the league’s fanbase

According to new data from StreamsCharts, livestreams across all platforms totaled 29.61 billion Hours Watched last quarter, a slight 0.6% drop from Q1. While the overall streaming industry remains steady, Twitch continues to lose ground. YouTube Live held firm as the dominant force, maintaining just over 50% of the entire market’s watch time and matching its Q1 numbers with 14.83 billion hours watched. But the real movement came from Kick, which saw viewership surge by 28.1% quarter-over-quarter. With breakout streamers, a growing demand for gaming content, and a stacked football entertainment calendar, Kick’s growth pushed its market share to 3.74% with its strongest performance since launch. StreamsCharts Twitch, meanwhile, posted its third straight quarterly decline. StreamsCharts reports the Amazon-owned platform saw drops in both average channels and average viewers, leading to a dip in total hours watched. Twitch’s market share also slid by another 0.9% in Q2. Twitch opened the door for Kick’s success Kick‘s rise has also come with Twitch’s fall. One major factor behind Twitch’s decline? Multistreaming. Since the platform lifted its exclusivity

On the one hand, agentic AI tools are helping publishers streamline ad sales and operations, with the efficiency gains producing incremental revenue. But, on the other hand, publishers are losing monetizable traffic to generative AI-powered search. And internal optimizations may not be enough to offset those traffic losses. Stephanie Layser, global head of publisher ad tech solutions at Amazon Web Services (AWS), has spent her career in ad tech on the sell side focusing on how publishers can get the most out of digital advertising. And publishers are getting some encouraging early results from deploying new AI tools, she said during the AWS Monetization Symposium in New York City on Wednesday. Take Amazon-owned Twitch. Before it worked with AWS to automate parts of its sales process, the video platform suffered from data fragmentation that left 20% of advertisers’ campaign questions unanswered. But Twitch worked with AWS to centralize its marketing data and created retrieval augmented generation (RAG) connections to give AI assistants access to that centralized data. As a result, Twitch has seen 25% higher revenue so far this year from advertisers that use AI solutions

But that’s exactly what happened during Speed’s tour of Athens, turning a casual meetup into one of the most entertaining crossover moments between basketball and streaming. The NBA Player Guessing Game allows you to guess the NBA player based on clues about their team, division, height, jersey number, points, and experience. What Happened When Giannis Antetokounmpo Challenged IShowSpeed to Touch the Rim? The magic started when Antetokounmpo and Speed walked onto a basketball court that holds special meaning for the Milwaukee Bucks star. This was where Giannis got his first dunk as a youngster, making it the perfect spot for a friendly challenge. During this part of Speed’s live Twitch feed, Antetokounmpo playfully said Speed wouldn’t be able to touch the rim, but Speed wasn’t fazed. He grabbed the ball, pumped himself up, approached the rim, and got up to dunk the ball despite being over a foot shorter than Antetokounmpo. Giannis didn’t think Speed couldn’t touch touch the rim, so Speed DUNKS it 🔥 👀 pic.twitter.com/knbiZoSCv1 — Speedy
