Following a complaint by the child’s parents, the Crime Branch arrested the accused -- identified as Ajay Tukaram Mhatre (30) and Bhajanlal Janiyani (29) -- on Saturday. As per reports, the 10-year-old girl’s parents had given her a mobile phone for attending her school’s e-classes. Using the phone, she signed up on WhatsApp and Snapchat. The duo used Snapchat and WhatsApp to threaten the minor girl. Duo had allegedly told the girl that they would kill her parents if she didn’t agree. The two men initially sent messages on Snapchat and eventually became friends with the girl. During one of their conversations, the man sent her a photo in the buff and asked her to send hers as well. When the girl refused their demands the man along with another friend, started threatening to kill her parents. The girl immediately told her ordeal to her parents, who then lodged a case against unknown persons at the local police station. The Crime Branch formed a team and began investigating the case. After a four-hour search, they were able to trace and arrest the culprits.

A 19-year-old former Berkeley High School student was arrested earlier this week in connection with an alleged hacking and blackmail scheme involving nude photos of underage girls, some of whom he went to school with.High school girls in Berkeley, as well as from public and private schools in Alameda, Contra Costa, and Marin counties, report being "targeted" by a hacker who was initially only identified by the handle "willkonlo." As Berkeleyside reports, via the Berkeley Police Department and the FBI, the hacker began last summer by hacking the Snapchat accounts of several Berkeley High students, and then attempting to extort more nude photos of the girls via text. Berkeley High School officials reached out to the police on May 10.Police arrested 19-year-old Liam Burgmann near his Berkeley hills home on Monday. As KTVU reports, in addition to finding evidence of blackmail, police say they found, through search warrants, that Burgmann was in possession of names, account information, and contact information for over 100 girls, many between the ages of 15 and 17. You are here MINNEAPOLIS – An Owatonna man pleaded guilty today to possession of an unregistered firearm, announced Acting United States Attorney W. Anders Folk. According to court documents, the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office received information that Dayton Charles Sauke, 22, was selling narcotics and manufacturing and dealing firearms without a license. Law enforcement agents monitored Sauke’s Snapchat account where he made numerous posts consistent with manufacturing and dealing firearms without a license. Sauke also posted pictures of a short-barreled shotgun and made several threatening posts about killing law enforcement and politicians. On January 15, 2021, two undercover agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) met with Sauke and purchased from him a privately made firearm. During the meeting, Sauke had a short-barreled shotgun with him and showed it to the undercover agents. The short-barreled shotgun was later recovered by law enforcement officials and examined by an ATF expert, who determined it was an operable 12-gauge shotgun with a barrel length of approximately 11 inches and a total overall length of 18 inches. EXETER — A man accused of sending a 15-year-old girl pictures of himself naked and soliciting her for sex has pleaded guilty and was sentenced to a year in jail.Anthony Shaw, 19, of Exeter, pleaded guilty in Rockingham Superior Court to two misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of a child and two misdemeanor counts of indecent exposure as part of a negotiated plea deal with prosecutors. A judge handed down a 12-month sentence, with four months suspended for five years, and credit for 144 days served on one of the indecent exposure charges. The sentence for the other indecent exposure charge was a deferred conviction, meaning it can be brought forward if Shaw commits a "triggering offense."Shaw received two consecutive suspended 12-month sentences on each of the endangering the welfare of a child charges that he will have to serve if he violates probation during a two- to five-year period.  Shaw was arrested by Exeter police March 18. A Victorian man who raped his sleeping friend after sending her a series of late-night messages that received no response has been jailed for at least three years and 10 months.The 29-year-old Phillip Island man, who cannot be named, raped the woman, then 25, at Cowes in March 2020.He messaged her on Snapchat after she left a party they had both attended, asking “where you at”.The man then walked to the house the woman was staying at, which was unlocked, looking for a phone charger.Another man also at the home asked what the 29-year-old was doing and walked him home.A Phillip Island man who raped his sleeping friend has been jailed.
