Adam Piggott, aged 36, targeted several women’s TikTok, Facebook and email accounts in August last year. He also found a way to get into their clothes shopping accounts with retailers including BooHoo and I Saw It First. Piggott, of Lime Street, Coleham, Shrewsbury, pleaded guilty at a remote Shrewsbury Crown Court hearing to 13 charges of causing a computer to perform a function to secure/enable unauthorised access to a program/data. Kevin Jones, mitigating, accepted that these offences put Piggott in breach of his suspended sentence and asked for the case to be adjourned for a pre-sentence report, and so it could be conducted in person, rather than over a video link. Published 11:06 am Thursday, April 16, 2026 A youth is in custody following threats made toward Stettler’s Wm. E. Hay Secondary Campus. At about 10:15 p.m. on April 15, RCMP officers received reports that a youth was sending threats to other students via Snapchat that they would shoot other students. An investigation was quickly begun, and officers obtained sufficient evidence to arrest a suspect. The youth has charges pending for uttering threats and will be taken before a justice of the peace to determine future court dates and release conditions. As the suspect is a youth, they can not be identified. The Stettler detachment does not believe there is an ongoing threat to students or staff, however out of an abundance of caution, the school resource officer and detachment officers are working with the school to ensure an ongoing police presence in the short term. “Clearview Public Schools was made aware of a potential threat involving Wm. E. Hay School late yesterday evening,” said Clearview Public Schools, via a release. “We have been advised that the individual involved is currently with the RCMP, and their investigation is ongoing. Snap Inc., the company that owns the social media platform Snapchat, is laying off about 16 percent of its full-time workforce. The move will impact about 1,000 employees, CEO Evan Spiegel announced Wednesday. The company is also closing about 300 open roles. “This is an incredibly difficult decision, and I am deeply sorry to the colleagues who will be leaving us. You have made important contributions to Snap, and we are committed to supporting you through this transition,” Spiegel said in a message to staff.
