(KY3) - The Missouri Hospital Association has honored Steve Edwards, president and CEO of CoxHealth, as this year’s recipient of the Visionary Leadership Award.According to the Missouri Hospital Association, the award recognizes a hospital or health system chief executive “whose organization has demonstrated sustained improvements in clinical and health outcomes.” “It’s somewhat easy to take for granted good leadership when everything is going pretty well, but truly great leadership — when do you need it? The residents of Marysville will head to the polls in November 2022 to vote on whether or not to amend the city charter to allow the city council to set the amount for purchases beyond which competitive bids or prices must be sought. The amendment will also allow the council to set an upper limit to purchases by the city manager without council approval. The city charter mandates the current limit of $3,000 for both. At its regular meeting Oct. 25, the council voted 6-1 to approve sending the amendment to the voters. Mayor Wayne Pyden voted against the proposal. “This is not something that city administration is pushing for one way or the other,” said City Manager Randy Fernandez before the vote, as heard on the recording of the meeting posted on the city’s website. “The bottom line is that the charter has set a limit of $3,000. In full transparency, I’ve been here 10 years as the assistant manager and then the manager, and it was always told to me that the limit was $5,000.” If the voters approve the amendment, “the council would set the spending limit for the city manager, now and in the future,” said…

Vimeo, a major video-sharing services platform, censored the first episode of a cartoonist’s fictional series titled “UNJABBED” for what they claim is “dangerous” health-related content, even though the video includes no overt reference to COVID-19. Ken Avidor, an artist based in Indianapolis, Indiana, makes films with sketches. He is also the author of “Bicyclopolis,” a comic book released in 2018. Given he pays for a subscription service on Vimeo and has released other work on his profile, it caught him off guard when he had his latest work removed. Avidor received word from Vimeo on Oct. 15 that episode one of “UNJABBED,” a two-minute dystopian piece about a man who goes on the run after his wife dies from a vaccine, violated the platform’s terms of service. According to Vimeo, the artist’s video violated three policies. Filmmaker Will Webb debuted his latest short film this past weekend and it's worth a watch. Another Unknown Mystery is a riff on the classic "Unsolved Mysteries" TV show (which scared the crap out of me as a kid, too). Not only does it make fun of the show and its host, it's also telling a chilling horror story in its own right. Though it's honestly not that scary. Webb describes it on Twitter as a "VHS horror microshort" that was inspired by his own childhood memory of discovering "Unsolved Mysteries" late one night, and being haunted by the images ever since. Another Unknown Mystery stars Tom Knight, Elena Voce, Stewart Lockwood, and Kevin Layne.
