WhatsApp is yet to make a profit for Mark Zuckerberg and Meta, may be sold this year

FP StaffJul 27, 2022 16:23:53 ISTMeta, back in 2014 when it was known as Facebook, had acquired WhatsApp in 2014 for a cool $19 billion. Back then, it was one of the most expensive tech deals. It was also said to be one of Mark Zuckerberg’s most ambitious deals.  However, Zuckerberg’s deal is not working out as he had hoped. Woman lay dead in Peckham flat for 2 years despite neighbours' WhatsApp messages … – MyLondon

Shocking WhatsApp texts between residents of a South London building showed their rising concern over the welfare of a neighbour, as her body lay undiscovered for two and a half years. Sheila Seleoane’s severely decomposed body was eventually found on February 18, 2022, after police forced entry to her third-storey flat at The Lords Court in Peckham. Neighbours had made repeated complaints of a bad smell to the housing association, the Peabody Trust, and had raised concerns that she was missing or dead, but no action was taken. Police had also visited the retired medical secretary’s home on two occasions in October 2020 at the request of residents, but her body was not discovered. A detailed timeline released by Harriet Harman's office, the Labour MP for Camberwell and Peckham, reveals messages between tenants where they question “Is she dead?” as early as June 2020. Sheila had not been seen since August 14, 2019, when she spoke to her GP to organise an appointment for the following day, which she failed to attend.
