Reported By:| Edited By: DNA Web Team |Source: DNA webdesk |Updated: Nov 24, 2021, 05:36 PM ISTWith the rise in spyware like Pegasus that can reportedly even infiltrate end-to-end encrypted WhatsApp chats, people feel more threatened and concerned about the data they share online. Some people opt to download less secure and modded apps as an alternative to the original application. This could lead the users to become victims of cybercrime. WhatsApp is a widely used encrypted chatting service in India and around the world. Despite its widespread use, the official app excludes many of the functions and personalization that are available on other platforms. Consequently, several third-party coders have created their unique modified versions of WhatsApp that include capabilities that are not available in the stock app. WhatsApp Delta by Deltalabs Studio is one such customized app.  Modded WhatsApps WhatsApp Delta and GBWhatsApp aren’t accessible on the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. Both app stores make it illegal to release and install modified apps. However, the Google Play Store app may have altered apps existing on it sometimes. APK files for Android devices can be found on a variety of weblinks. Many of these sites will display the app…

The messaging platform is including ‘more detail’ for European users about how it collects and uses data. WhatsApp has updated its privacy policy for users in Europe following its fine from Ireland’s data watchdog. In September, the Irish Data Protection Commission (DPC) issued its largest ever fine to the messaging platform. It was ordered to pay €225m for breaching transparency obligations under the EU’s GDPR and to update its privacy notices for European users. WhatsApp, owned by the company now known as Meta, is appealing the fine but is updating its policy information in Europe. “This update does not change the way we operate our service, including how we process, use or share your data with anyone, including our parent company Meta,” WhatsApp outlined. Instead, the messaging platform said it has “better organised” its privacy policy and updated it with additional information. This includes “more detail” about how it collects and uses data, what services third parties provide, why it shares data across borders and how it protects that data, and the legal bases it relies on for processing user data. Policy problems The policy update is coming into effect from today (22 November). Users are set to see a…

You will receive a notification if someone responds to one of your messages. Fortunately, you will be given the option to disable it. WhatsApp's much-anticipated message reaction function appears to be gaining traction, as the instant messaging service is now rumoured to be working on a 'reaction notifications' feature. The new WhatsApp beta for Android v2.21.24.8 update was spotted by WABetaInfo, who notes that the notification feature initially appeared on the iOS beta. The expected'message reaction' feature of Meta (previously Facebook)-owned WhatsApp would effectively allow users to react to messages using emoticons like as heart or thumbs up that are already accessible on its sibling platforms such as Instagram and Facebook. The option to manage "response notification" will most likely be found in the main Settings menu, but it is unclear whether users will receive the same tool for individual chats…

Nothing objectionable in Aryan Khan's WhatsApp chats; no evidence of conspiracy in NCB …

MUMBAI: The Bombay high court has said there was "nothing objectionable" in the WhatsApp chats extracted from Aryan Khan's phone as part of the probe in the high-profile Mumbai cruise drugs case. In its order following the grant of bail to Aryan and others, the court said: “Merely because of Applicants were travelling on the cruise, that by itself cannot be termed as satisfying foundation for invoking provisions of Section 29 (conspiracy) against the Applicants - Aryan Khan, Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha." Justice Nitin Sambre said, “After having gone through the Whatsapp chats extracted from (Aryan Khan’s) phone, nothing objectionable could be noticed to suggest that – he and Arbaaz – or all three applicants along with other accused persons in agreement have meeting of minds and have hatched conspiracy committing the offence in question.” The fact that Aryan Khan was not found in possession of any objectionable substance is not in dispute, the court said in its 14-page order. The court said that the “quantity of drugs which was seized from the possession of (Arbaaz and Munmun), if independently considered, is a small quantity, is not disputed fact."
