Reactions aplenty as Virat Kohli departs Test cricket

After 123 Tests for India, the 30-time centurion retires from the longest format. ICC Chair, Jay Shah congratulated Virat Kohli on a stellar Test career, and went on to praise his commitment to the game. Congratulations @imVkohli on a stellar Test career. Thank you for championing the purest format during the rise of T20 cricket and setting an extraordinary example in discipline, fitness, and commitment. Your speech at the Lord’s said it all - you played Tests with heart, grit,… pic.twitter.com/sYBhJ5HhJI — Jay Shah (@JayShah) May 12, 2025 Kohli's post discussed his time in the Indian Test setup. "It’s been 14 years since I first wore the baggy blue in Test cricket. Honestly, I never imagined the journey this format would take me on. It’s tested me, shaped me, and taught me lessons I’ll carry for life," the post read. "There’s something deeply personal about playing in whites. The quiet grind, the long days, the small moments that no one sees but that stay with you forever. "As I step away from this format, it’s not easy — but it feels right. I’ve given it everything I had, and it’s given me back so much more than I could’ve hoped

The news organisation reaffirms its commitment to ethical journalism in Jammu and Kashmir and would explore options to seek a review of the action. Marin-Sonoma Hwy. 101 carpool lane hours are about to change

“Consistent HOV hours will improve transit reliability, reduce congestion, and support regional climate goals,” says one of the local transportation officials involved in the planning. NORTH BAY BUSINESS JOURNAL May 10, 2025, 7:34AM Updated 3 hours ago 1 minute read Highway 101 in the North Bay will soon have longer, consistent carpool hours to go along with completion of the last gap in those lanes from the Richardson Bay Bridge in Marin to Windsor in Sonoma County. Once the last segment of the Marin-Sonoma Narrows widening project opens sometime late this summer, high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) lanes will operate from 5—10 a.m. and 3—7 p.m. in both directions Monday—Friday. Starting next week, northbound traffic through the Narrows area will be shifted to the newly built lanes so that work on the median can be finished.
