On Wednesday, Durant joined 980 CJME‘s The Green Zone to discuss that legendary season. Despite the team’s 11-7 regular season record and confetti shower after the final whistle, he was quick to point out that that year’s group had their fair share of struggles. “Everything wasn’t peaches and cream with that season,” the retired signal-caller recalled. “We had a four-game losing streak. We had some injuries. We had a lot of trials and tribulations thrown our way and to overcome those things was amazing.” Just like the current version of the Riders, the 2013 squad lost four straight games through the month of September. The skid cast serious doubts on the team’s status as a contender and the quarterback became a focal point for the outrage, including from Twitter user @ZuckRightOff. That aptly named account, which was credited to a man named Christian Zuck and featured a selfie with Durant

According to reports on Thursday, Musk broke federal securities laws in 2022 when he bought stock in Twitter, as well as statements and SEC filings he made about the deal. In March 2022, Musk bought a 9.2% stake in Twitter and became the company’s majority shareholder. The purchase was not disclosed in an SEC filing until the next month. Twitter shareholders sued over the late filing shortly after, though their suit was dismissed. Faced with a trial that sought to compel him to complete the deal, Musk purchased Twitter’s remaining stock in a $44 billion deal and took over the company in October 2022. The SEC’s investigation was disclosed on Thursday when the US agency sued to compel Musk to testify in their investigation, which he previously agreed to do and then reneged on. The SEC said it subpoenaed Musk in May 2023, requiring him to provide testimony at the agency’s office in San Francisco and that Musk had agreed to appear last month. But two days before he was

Musk closed his acquisition of Twitter, now known as X, in October in a deal worth roughly $44 billion.“Musk’s ongoing refusal to comply with the SEC’s administrative subpoena is hindering and delaying the SEC staff’s investigation to determine whether violations of the federal securities laws have occurred,” the attorneys wrote in the complaint. “Accordingly, the SEC now asks the Court to compel Musk to appear for investigative testimony.”The SEC said it tried to find an agreeable time and place to meet with Musk, including offering to meet him at the agency’s office in Fort Worth, Texas, “the closest SEC office to Musk’s current personal residence” in the Austin area. The SPARC’s purpose, like that of a SPAC, is to invest in a private company and take it public. Now the billionaire CEO of hedge fund Pershing Square Capital is on the prowl for a deal with a company seeking to raise $1.5 billion or more — and has already been fielding inquiries from interested parties. “The phone was ringing all weekend,” said an individual familiar with the situation. (On Friday, Ackman tweeted “If your large private growth company wants to go public without the risks and expenses of a typical IPO, with Pershing Square as your anchor shareholder, please call me. We promise a quick yes or no.”) One candidate floated by the Wall Street Journal is
