Controversial new AI image editor has artists deserting X (again) – Creative Bloq

Like many brands, a lot of artists stopped using the former Twitter in the great X exodus a couple of years ago. Elon Musk's chaotic rebranding of the platform along with a rise in AI bots and a proliferation of conspiracy theories and hate speech caused many to seek Twitter alternatives. Some chose to hang on, but perhaps not for much longer after Elon Musk announced a dubious Christmas present for the X community. The platform has rolled out a controversial new feature that allows users to edit any image on the platform using AI, and artists are understandably furious. All images on X now have an 'edit image' option that can be accessed by clicking on the three dots at the top right of a post or via an icon that appears on images themselves. The option seems to appear across all accounts, including on images of famous IPs from movies, TV and video games. Clicking 'Edit image' brings up a text box in which the users can input a prompt to request changes to the image. The resulting AI slop can then be downloaded or shared on X. The ubiquity of AI image generators means it was already

Twitter takes a look at what 2025 has been like – Softonic

News Agencias December 26, 2025 Updated: December 26, 2025 at 9:10 AM The X platform has published an annual summary highlighting the most significant interactions and trends of its users during 2025. This report provides a comprehensive overview of user behavior, although it is important to note that this data does not necessarily reflect the average behavior of the global population. Among the most notable findings, 12.4 million posts were recorded about the popular series ‘Stranger Things’, highlighting its cultural impact. Additionally, the Premier League captured users’ attention with nearly 600 million mentions, confirming its relevance in the sports arena. In the music field, Justin Bieber and Stray Kids ranked among the most mentioned artists, with 11.2 million and 45.7 million posts, respectively. https://twitter.com/Stranger_Things/status/2000561484972138922 People are obsessed with emojis on Twitter A curious aspect of the report is the use of emojis, which continue to be a fundamental element in digital communication. The thumbs up, the fire emoji, and the rocket led the most popular emoji usage, with 1 billion, 2.4 billion, and 1.4 billion posts, respectively. This demonstrates how users express their emotions and interactions through these visual icons. X has taken advantage of its Global Trending feature to

NFL: Detroit Lions eliminated from playoff contention by Minnesota Vikings as Dallas … – Sky Sports

Jordan Addison took a jet sweep handoff 65 yards for the game-sealing touchdown with 3:43 left as the Minnesota Vikings forced six turnovers and eliminated the Detroit Lions from playoff contention with a 23-10 victory on Christmas Day. Harrison Smith, the 14th-year veteran safety, had one of the two interceptions and one of the five sacks of Jared Goff as the Vikings (8-8) won their fourth straight game. Goff was charged with three lost fumbles, once on a sack and twice on errant snaps by backup center Kingsley Eguakun. With the third straight loss for the Lions (8-8), the Green Bay Packers clinched at least a wild-card spot and could still catch the Chicago Bears for the NFC North title that went to Detroit the past two seasons and Minnesota the year before that. The Lions and Vikings combined for 29 wins last season, making this an attractive matchup for the NFL's three-game Christmas Day showcase before injuries and other assorted setbacks took them out of the race. Twitter/X Now Lets Anyone AI-Edit Your Images, And There’s No Opting Out

There's one method to "opt out," but it's awful to say the least. It seems that, in the eyes of Twitter/X's higher-ups, the artistic community has been very, very naughty this year, with it now being in an uproar over receiving a proverbial lump of coal for Christmas 2025 in the form of a new feature that lets anyone edit anyone's images shared on the platform in just a single click. While sure, it's always been possible to download an image, upload it to a slop generator of one's choosing, and alter it through prompts in whatever way the machine wanted, but the new update boils the entire process down to clicking a single dedicated button. As shown in the screenshots above, said button opens one's typical gen-AI menu with tabs for prompts, the resulting image, and miscellaneous options such as creating a dedicated post featuring the altered image or replying to the original post with it. Based on testing, the option appears on all posts featuring images, irrespective of whether those posts are viewed directly on a user's page, in the For You feed, or anywhere else on the website. At the moment, the feature seemingly only affects regular

Which European countries are considering banning social media for children? | Euronews

In the wake of Australia’s under-16 social media ban, launched earlier this month, European countries are grappling with whether they should implement similar restrictions. As of December 10, Australian children under 16 could no longer create or keep social media accounts on platforms such as Facebook, X, Threads, Snapchat, Instagram, TikTok, Twitch, Reddit, and Google-owned YouTube. If these platforms are found to violate the law, they could face stiff penalties of 50 million Australian dollars (€28 million). So what are European nations doing to restrict social media for children online? We take a look at national measures that are either proposed or that are already in place across Europe. Denmark In November, the Danish government said it had secured an agreement from all political parties to ban access to some social media sites for those under the age of 15. The move is to “protect children and young people in the digital world,” from platforms that may expose them to harmful content or features, according to a November press release. “Children and young people have their sleep disrupted, lose their peace and concentration, and experience increasing pressure from digital relationships where adults are not always present,” the statement read. The
