YouTube Gold: Maurice Cheeks Coaches The National Anthem Singer

When he played in the NBA, Maurice Cheeks was a quietly brilliant point guard. He kind of had to be. When he was with Philadelphia, the 76ers featured Julius Erving, Moses Malone, Andrew Toney, Doug Collins, Darryl Dawkins and later, Charles Barkley. No one was going to do well on that team if they didn't share the ball and just as importantly, the glory. It was a role that Cheeks was really suited to. He handled the ball, moved it to the hot hand and played his heart out on defense. He earned immense respect for his ability to stir the drink, as it were. His instinct to support his teammates was really strong and it took him to the Hall of Fame. After his playing career Cheeks became a solid coach and in 2003, when he was coaching the Portland Trail Blazers, his supportive instincts kicked in again, this time for a young singer. There had been a contest to sing the national anthem and the winner was a 13-year-old singer named Natalie Gilbert and not long after she started to sing, she forgot the words. YouTube Wants to Help You and Your Roommate Save on Premium | PCMag

Google is testing a new two-person plan for YouTube Premium that sits between the individual and family plans, Moneycontrol reports. Like Spotify's Premium Duo, the plan would help couples, roommates, or any two individuals in the same household reduce subscription costs while maintaining separate accounts, the report adds. The offer is only valid for new users ages 13 and up. "We're experimenting with new ways to provide greater flexibility and value to our YouTube Premium subscribers, including offering a two-person Premium plan option, allowing two people to share a subscription at a reduced cost," YouTube tells Moneycontrol. In India, the new two-person plan costs Rs 219 per month (~$2.60), with the individual plan at Rs 149 (~$1.77) and the family plan at Rs 299 (~$3.55). If YouTube expands the testing to the US and follows a similar pricing strategy, the two-person plan could cost around $18-$19 per month; two separate individual subscriptions cost $28 a month.  This Tweet is currently unavailable.
