Joe Rogan's big audience and revenue from YouTube helped him drive up the price of his Spotify deal. Spotify rushed out plans to build a video service largely to keep Rogan's fans happy, sources said. YouTube is building more features to appeal to podcasters. Joe Rogan's deal to carry his show exclusively on Spotify reached a record-breaking sum in large part because of his success on YouTube, according to people familiar with the matter. Before 2020, Rogan had built up a significant business by posting full podcast episodes on YouTube. As Spotify negotiated its deal for his show, Rogan's team drove up the price because Spotify would have to compensate for the YouTube revenue and audience he was forgoing, these people said. Spotify ended up paying about $200 million, The New York Times reported. The Rogan deal reflects a new reality in the podcasting world: YouTube has unintentionally become a podcasting giant. "In the week since I started my channel, I've uploaded five videos and somehow gained over 700,000 subscribers between EN and JP! My hope is that as more people watch these videos, games as a whole will grow even more fun. Thank you so much for watching!" Have you subscribed to Sakurai's YouTube channels yet? Tell us below. But there they were, two of them, one big and one small, paddling back and forth past each other like furry ships in the afternoon, seemingly unaware they were being filmed.“They’re so cool, like little beavers,” said Maggie Carter, standing on the riverbank. She held a small camcorder and was staring at its monitor, which displayed a tight shot of the larger muskrat. Her husband, Joseph Carter — 37, short blond hair, wearing black waders over jeans and a T-shirt — walked over with a GoPro camera strapped to his chest and a cage in his hand.“They must be messing with each other, they wouldn’t be coming out like this otherwise,” he said, setting the cage down gently. Inside, an animal flicked its head from side to side, swiveling around the small space. It was an American mink, named Boon. Mr. Carter, who was now opening the door to the cage, is among the country’s more unconventional midsize-pest control specialists, known to…
