Alberto Frati, who runs the streaming service FightersLife, was 1-0 as a professional when he took to the ring to take on Bosnian Stefan Markovic in Liege. But he struggled to keep up the pace over six rounds, and with seconds to go in the fight, Markovic viciously dropped him with a right hand. Frati showed heart to get up from the face-planting knockdown, but was unable to turn around the tide afterwards and lost a lopsided unanimous decision. Two judges scored every round to Markovic, who was 0-13 heading into the bout, while one gave the social media star one round. It had been over two-and-a-half years since Frati won his debut against 13-53-6 journeyman Michael Isaac Carrero on a show in Malta. And he showed the ring rust throughout the bout, struggling to gain…

YouTube will exclusively stream 15 MLB games this season – The Verge

YouTube and Major League Baseball have renewed their streaming pact for the 2022 season, which will result in 15 regular-season games being shown exclusively on the platform. The first will be streamed on May 15th between the Washington Nationals and Colorado Rockies. The news continues MLB’s effort to reach viewers across many different streaming services. Here’s a breakdown of what’s happening over the current season: Apple TV Plus has Friday Night Baseball, a weekly doubleheader available in eight countries exclusively on Apple TV Plus throughout the regular season. Peacock will stream 18 early Sunday games beginning May 8th, with all but one exclusive to the platform. Amazon Prime Video is exclusively streaming 21 New York Yankees games in the team’s home market during the 2022 season. Amazon already simulcasts in-market games after acquiring a stake in the YES Network in 2019. YouTube says 15 games will be available “live, for free, to fans around the world in 182 countries.” One welcome improvement for the YouTube games is that they’ll be showcased in better quality: the feed will now be 1080p with a 60fps frame rate, according to CNET, up from the 30fps 720p stream from previous years. MLB also says…

A Cubs game will be aired on YouTube in 2022 – Bleed Cubbie Blue

Major League Baseball announced Thursday the renewal of its partnership with YouTube. It’ll be the fourth season MLB airs games exclusively on the streaming platform. One of those games will involve the Cubs. That’ll happen Friday, May 20 when the Cubs take on the Diamondbacks at Wrigley Field at 1:20 p.m. CT. (That’s also the day of the unveiling of the Fergie Jenkins statue at the ballpark.) This game will air only on YouTube and not on Marquee Sports Network. Unlike some other streaming options for MLB this year, no subscription is required to watch these games. You can watch for free on any internet connected device via the YouTube app, or simply by internet browser. MLB Network will once again produce all 15 YouTube broadcasts this season, with play-by-play broadcaster Scott Braun and former MLB All-Star Yonder Alonso calling the games. Additionally, the MLB Game of the Week Live on YouTube Pregame Show will be hosted by MLB Network host and reporter Siera Santos and begins 30 minutes before each game’s scheduled start time and air live on YouTube. If you live in the Chicago area you should be familiar with Santos, who worked at NBC Sports Chicago and…

YouTube is taking over the NFT space in the best way possible – We Rave You

YouTube is the most recent major social platform to announce its plans to integrate Web3 into its platform; in fact, practically every major platform is gearing up for Web3. Twitter has made its NFT profile images public, Instagram is getting ready to start selling NFTs on the platform, and Spotify is working on plans to incorporate NFTs and blockchain technology into its streaming business, with the company also hiring web3 experts.Susan Wojcicki, the CEO of YouTube, is being cautious about how the platform will incorporate web3. The purpose of the platform is to assist and provide creators with additional monetization alternatives, which will help small creators and artists earn more money. Susan stated that NFTs on YouTube would be a game-changer since the platform’s algorithm tracks all videos, allowing for the detection of stolen NFTs. Even the most powerful NFT markets cannot compete with YouTube’s strict copyright and robust algorithm. OpenSea and other marketplaces have clearly had huge difficulties with individuals breaking in and stealing other people’s work, and support takes a long time to respond, and by the time they do, the harm has already been done. This would no longer be an issue with YouTube since creators would no longer…

YouTube is recovering from outage, fixing sidebar and casting – The Verge

If you logged onto YouTube today, you may have noticed that something was off with the homepage: the sidebar that lets you access things like your subscriptions feed, trending videos, and “Library” that keeps your Watch Later list and video history, was missing (though you can access some of the pages by clicking on the links we’ve included). The issues plagued the site for a few hours on Tuesday, according to reports from users on Twitter. Some users were also cut off from trying to cast videos to a smart TV or watch streams from a game console. The account menu, which lets you switch accounts, manage settings, and view your channel, was also broken. Users could still watch videos from your homepage or search, but people who like to carefully manage their YouTube experience or creators who weren’t logged into the correct account had a tough time using the site. Getting reports from around the that some of you are having trouble with certain features across YouTube services (e.g. logging in, switching accounts & using the navigation bar) – we’re aware & working on a fix.Sharing updates as we have them here → https://t.co/wOtEBLiWAC— TeamYouTube (@TeamYouTube) April 12, 2022…
