Blenheim is home to vast vineyards, overcompensating utes and mobs of seniors on mobility scooters. We soon discovered the saying, “Blenheim, Nearly Wed or Nearly Dead” was in fact, very true. Our first couple months in Blenheim we would walk to the shops as we live close to the town centre. We previously sold our car in Wellington, since we rarely used it. I’m originally from Los Angeles. Nobody walks in LA. Nobody walks in Blenheim. If you do, you get the side eye from locals as they zoom through zebra crossings.
