BREESPORT, N.Y. (WENY) — The Chemung County Rod and Gun Club sustained significant damage early Thursday morning after a car crashed into the corner of the building. According to the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office, Deakahn Colavita, 19, was speeding on Lattabrook Road in Breesport when he lost control on a curve just after 4 a.m., went off the road and struck the clubhouse. Colavita was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Both Colavita and a passenger were injured and transported to the hospital for evaluation. The Sheriff’s Office issued several traffic tickets in connection with the incident. The clubhouse has been boarded up following the crash.
