MADISON, Wis. (WMTV/Gray News) – An elementary school teacher in Wisconsin has been arrested and is on leave amid an investigation into possession of child pornography. Authorities said an investigation involving David Fawcett, 58, began after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children contacted police in Melissa, Texas, about a 15-year-old girl sending explicit photos online. Police traced one recipient, a Snapchat account, to an IP address in Madison that belonged to Fawcett. Officers then obtained a search warrant for his home. The warrant details explicit messages between the accounts, including eight nude photos and videos of the minor and messages instructing her to perform sexual acts on and off camera; both parties acknowledged the illegal age gap. Fawcett’s alleged account also asked the girl about school and what she was wearing, and told her to pay attention in class, according to the warrant. Additionally, the search warrant referred to a 2022 case involving Fawcett. It said a detective responding to an NCMEC tip from TikTok spoke to Fawcett as part of the investigation. Fawcett is a STEM teacher in the Reach Program at Nuestro Mundo Elementary. The 58-year-old has been licensed to teach for more than 25 years
