FrameRate has released FrameRate Migrator, a free desktop application that gives creators a simple way to download their complete Vimeo library to their own computer. The app is available now for Mac, with Windows support coming soon. Migrator connects directly to a user’s Vimeo account and pulls in their full video library. Users can select which videos to download or take everything at once. Each video is saved at the highest available quality, and all metadata, titles, descriptions, tags, and privacy settings are preserved automatically alongside the files. Downloads run in the background, so users can keep working while the app does its thing. “Getting your videos out of Vimeo is harder than it should be,” said Justin Cone , co-founder at FrameRate. “We wanted to build something that made the process painless. Download everything, keep it on your hard drive, and decide what to do with it later.
