You may have seen the Facebook page. “Lost & Found Paws of the U.P.” They share information regarding missing pets, ones that have been found, and unfortunately, ones that have been found deceased. The group is volunteer run and as long as you have some hours to spare once a week and internet access, anyone is welcome to do it. “Being a volunteer is so rewarding,” said Emily Bianchi Roberts. volunteer, Lost & Found Paws of the U.P. “It is so simple. It takes anywhere from seven to eight hours once a week. You just go on Facebook, check Facebook pages of local shelters, and just update our page with information of lost pets. There’s at least one pet that’s reunited with their family every single shift. It’s just the best feeling. It’s so rewarding.” Those interested in volunteering can reach out to organizers through the Facebook page. Training is done over the phone.
