Firefighters responded to a 911 call for the fire in a single-family home in the 100 block of Whiteram Court N.E. at about 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Crews found smoke billowing from the second storey of the house on arrival. Nine people were in the home at the time of the fire and were able to leave before fire crews arrived. Firefighters contained the fire to the source home, but the blaze caused extensive damage to the home, displacing the family. Police and EMS crews also responded to the fire.
