The Bruins prospect, who starred at UMass before turning pro, had two goals as Latvia surprised Germany, 4-3, on Saturday in Italy. Locmelis scored two goals on the power play against a German team that features NHL stars Leon Draisaitl and Tim Stultzle. Locmelis, 21, who is in his first full professional season, had 12 goals and nine assists for 21 points in 30 games for the Providence Bruins before the Olympics The fourth round pick has been a regular for Latvia in the World Championships in 2023, 2024 and 2025.
