The Town of Moraga, the City of Orinda, and the Moraga-Orinda Fire Protection District announced that prescribed fire operations are scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday at the east end of Orinda Oaks Park and along the ridge trail at Mulholland Ridge Open Space. Crews will burn vegetation to establish and maintain a strategic fuel break, an important wildfire mitigation measure that slows the spread of fire, improves evacuation routes, creates safer working conditions for firefighters, and supports the long-term health of native grassland ecosystems.
