April 16, 2022 16:14 Follow @PortlandPolice A reckless driver was arrested with a gun and drugs after attempting to elude Focused Intervention Team (FIT), East Precinct, Air Support Unit (ASU), and K9 officers. On Friday, April 15, 2022 at 7:49p.m., Focused Intervention Team officers tried to make a traffic stop on a vehicle driving at excessive speed and other reckless driving behavior. The driver failed to yield to the police, who did not pursue. ASU followed the vehicle and observed the driver passing in the oncoming lanes of traffic, running red lights, and driving on sidewalks. The driver and a passenger were seen jumping out of the car near Southeast 127th Avenue and Southeast Woodward Street, where they were captured and arrested with the assistance of K9. Officers seized a loaded gun, ammunition, drugs, and money (photo). Dale A. Field, 38, of Portland, was booked in the Multnomah County Detention Center on charges of Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Reckless Driving, Attempt to Elude by Vehicle, Attempt to Elude on Foot, and Delivery of a Controlled Substance.
