Forming a WhatsApp group to register protest against launch of Agnipath scheme for recruitment in Indian Army and also loading objectionable remarks by circulating photos of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has landed half a dozen youths in trouble as the local police in Sitapur registered a case and arrested them on Wednesday. Reports said that the youths created a WhatsApp group ‘Indian Army Uttar Pradesh’ and posted comments on the group and spread rumours of ruckus in Sitapur district and in Bakshi-ka-Talab in Lucknow with the aim of opposing the Agnipath scheme. They also posted objectionable photographs of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and made objectionable remarks against them. The cops of city Kotwali police station in Sitapur took cognisance of this WhatsApp group with the help of cyber cell and registered a case against all members of the group, including the group administrator of the Indian Army Uttar Pradesh group. The police registered a case against these six accused under sections 153A, 505 (1), 504,506,67 of the Indian Penal Code and arrested them by conducting raids at their houses late on Tuesday night.
