Snapchat is entering the awards game. The social media platform is hosting its first Snappys Awards Show, honoring breakout creators across entertainment, comedy, music, sports and beauty. The Snappys will take place on March 31 at Snap‘s Santa Monica headquarters, welcoming a variety of influencers, industry leaders and special guests. Comedian and creator Matt Friend will host, and DJ Khaled will be presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award, recognizing his impact and influence as a creator, artist and entrepreneur. “Snapchat has always been the place where I can be completely myself — it’s where some of the most creative, original voices are building real communities every single day,” Friend said in a statement. “I’ve grown up on this platform, so getting to host The Snappys Awards Show and celebrate the creators who are shaping comedy, music, sports and everything in between feels full circle.
