VERNON — A Southington man has been found guilty of sexually assaulting a minor in 2020, officials say. Cody Cutler, 28, was found guilty of second-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor in state Superior Court in Rockville Wednesday, the Connecticut Division of Criminal Justice said in a news release. Officials said evidence at trial showed that Cutler used the social media messaging platform Snapchat to meet the minor victim on Dec. 18, 2020, and subsequently sexually assaulted her. They said the minor victim immediately reported the assault and was taken to Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, where treatment provided physical evidence corroborating their report. Cutler’s sentencing is scheduled for Sept. 23, officials said.
