The Clubhouse at the Woodstock Golf Club mixes good food, nostalgia – Daily Freeman

WOODSTOCK, N.Y. — Billy and Caitlin Thomsen, who moved from Brooklyn to Woodstock seven years ago, hadn’t thought about getting into the restaurant business until they saw there was an opportunity to open one at the Woodstock Golf Club. “This is our first foray into the restaurant/bar business,” said Caitlin Thomsen, a photo retoucher and interior designer who works from her Woodstock home with her husband, Billy. “I’ve worked in restaurants a little bit, but not like this. So this was a big leap, but we thought we could do it. We’ve traveled a lot and we’ve lived in the city for a long time and we love to cook. We knew food, restaurants and bars, and we decided to do it.” The couple opened The Clubhouse, a restaurant and sports bar located on the scenic grounds of the nine-hole Woodstock Golf Club, in March 2026. The Clubhouse has been a popular addition to the Woodstock restaurant scene. It is family- friendly with indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor deck overlooks the Sawkill Creek, and the setup is perfect for streamside dining.
