SANDUSKY, Ohio — Two teens are facing felony charges after police say a sexually explicit Snapchat video spread across five school districts in the Sandusky area. According to Perkins Township police, the case began with an 18-year-old high school senior and his 16-year-old girlfriend sharing nude videos with each other on Snapchat. While their relationship itself was legal under Ohio law, police say it became illegal once explicit content was shared, since the girl is still a minor. “A lot of this type of stuff, sexting and these types of videos being new, the law hasn’t caught up yet. And maybe someday it will change,” said Detective Joe Rotuno. “But in the meantime, they were breaking the law.” The situation escalated when the 16-year-old saved one of the videos to her account.
