#Watch | 🚨Shia Muslim demonstrators gathered in Srinagar to protest against US and Israeli strikes on Iran after reports that Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed. Many held posters and voiced opposition to the attacks. #JammuKashmir #Israel #Iran #Khamenei It feels sad and hurtful to see these comments. Many Shia muslims respect Ayatollah Khamenei as a religious figure, just as Catholics look to the Pope and Buddhists to the Dalai Lama. Other religions also have their own spiritual leaders. For his own country he was a political leader, but for many others he was mainly a spiritual figure. Mourning him or opposing a foreign attack does not mean choosing Iran over India. People here have spoken up for Palestine, Ukraine, 26/11, Pahalgam and many other tragedies too. Kashmir itself has suffered the most from violence, including in Pahalgam. Ordinary Kashmiris have lost lives, peace and livelihood. So when people say “go to Iran” or question their belonging, it honestly feels unfair. Disagree with the protest if you want but please do not turn it into hate against an entire community. They didn’t come when Hindus burnt in Bangladesh. Pls go to Iran & fight for your leadership in Iran.
