Prosecutors have charged two men suspected to have been involved with a foiled possible mass shooting at a Pontiac graduation with weapons charges after they were unable to find the reported Snapchat threat. Deahveon Whaley, 19, and Jamarion Hardiman, 20, both of Pontiac, were charged Monday with carrying a firearm with an unlawful intent, possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony and carrying a concealed weapon. “We are moving forward with the charges presented by investigators,” Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald said in a statement. “This graduation event was disrupted by a fight that required a police response and, rather than walking away, it appears these defendants retrieved a gun. That’s unacceptable and we will hold them accountable.” Hardiman and Whaley were allegedly involved in a fight at the Arts and Technology Academy of Pontiac graduation at United Wholesale Mortgage’s Sports Complex. The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office was called to break up a fight in the parking lot at about 6:30 p.m. June 3. Neither man had an attorney listed in court records Monday morning.
