Wed, April 22, 2026 at 3:44 PM UTC Abilene man accused of sexually abusing runaway teen he met on Snapchat ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – An Abilene man accused of sexually abusing a runaway teen he met on Snapchat has been arrested. Emilio Fernandez was booked into the Taylor County Jail Tuesday for Sexual Assault of a Child in connection to an incident that happened in April 2025. Court documents state the brother of a 14-year-old runaway called police to report Fernandez had sexual contact with his sister. The documents state when the 14-year-old returned home after running away, family members found inappropriate videos, messages, and pictures on her phone involving Fernandez. During a subsequent interview with detectives, the documents state Fernandez admitted to meeting the 14-year-old on Snapchat, picking her up, and bringing her to Abilene, where they were together for two nights and did have sexual contact.
